Billy..thats what I thought! Hopefully great chunks would be left to the imagination!Do you think Gwenneth Paltrow is playing Natalie?
Saw The Method at Somerville, interesting movie. How far would you go for your job and how far would the company expect you to go for them? Scary stuff!

Mary it seems that gwyneth is playing Hope Finch, but good line-up of actors...should be interesting?

Saw Hot Fuzz with my two teenage boys. I thought it a funny movie but there were lots of references and 'homage' to 'shoot-em-up' movies which I didn't get but the boys thought hilarious. Not for the squeamish! If you liked Sean of the Dead...

Saw 'Music and Lyrics' and loved it. Anything with Hugh Grant is good for me as he usually plays in light romantic movies. Would like to see 'Wild Hogs' beause John Travolta hasn't been in a bad movie yet. Excellent actor whether he be playing in a comedy or as a baddie.

Mary - knew what you meant the first time!

Deb - I like Hugh Grant, even though he can only play one type of character - but he does it so well in my opinion! gotta love him or hate him!

I saw 'Wild Hogs' this weekend. Like Deb I thought any movie with John Travolta would have to be good. There were a few chuckles but mainly pretty ho hum, very diasappointing. 4.5/10

...as this page has become a bit artsy fartsy and has crossed over to other aspects of the arts - i would like to share with you a gem - Ed you would be proud of me - Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake (1970 - yes I know - very old), the Cello Song and River Man are truly beautiful songs. Shame he is no longer with us.

k - la Travolta no good? I heard that William H Macy was the only one who shone.
18/Mar/07 7:59 PM

Yes billy, William H Macy was the pick of the bunch and all the funny bits (?) were his. The only other good thing about the movie is John T is certainly easy on the eyes.

no - movies this w/end but i did tape 'Extras' (ricky Gervais)and have just watched it. Not often i see a tv show that I laugh out loud to. This one had Robert Lindsay and Robert de Niro making appearances - apparently the stars are queueing up to be on this show. Catch it if you can.
Looking fwd to seeing 300

Has anyone seen Three Colors Trilogy (Blue,White,Red)? I heard on a womens show on NPR that they are great movies. Let me know your opinion please.

Billy 300 gets a 9 from me. It has had the most varied reviews of any movie in a long time.

William H Macy was great in Fargo. I'm a big fan of the Cohen brothers.

Barb and I have been enjoying the second season of Rome on HBO. Also last season for Sopranos starts soon. Anxious to see how it turns out. This is the last year for my favorite tv show Deadwood on HBO.

haven't been to the movies for what seems like yonks.

Ed - Fargo is one of my all time favourite movies. Haven't seen 3 col tri, but heard they are good.

Mary - shall see Lives of Others on your recommendation!

I too liked Fargo a lot, though I'm not necessarily a fan of the Cohen Bros...bit too violent for me

Yonks? Go see 300 so we know what you thought of it.

The rest of you check out The Hoax with Richard Gere finally living up to his potential. Reminded me of Catch Me If You Can.

Of course we are all waiting for Grindhouse.

See you at the movies.

Just had a thought...I know I know!!! I thought the ending of The Lives of Others was perfect and then I got to thinking about other perfect endings and the two that immediately sprang to mind were Butch Cassidy and the SK and Thelma and Louise. Can anybody help with a perfect ending that doesn't involve imminent death and destruction???

Yonks = A long time, (unspecified), slang, (probably Australian).

Ed - It's english

YONKS: noun [U] UK OLD-FASHIONED INFORMAL
a very long time, usually a number of years
YONKS n. Quite simply, a long time. Not a specific length of time at all; it could be minutes or decades. Good examples would be 'Where have you been? I've been waiting here for More...

Ed - seeing 300 this weekend hopefully. Looking fwd to seeing Grindhouse, opens in 3 weeks.

Mary - Braveheart has a great ending but alas he dies...how about The Usual Suspects? The Matrix (1) It's hard to remember a memorable ending where death doesn't occur!

Ed - 300 was brilliant!! And it wasn't because of all the buff bods either, nice pecs and abs though...where was I? oh yes - the movie was quite a visual feast - fight scenes were some of the best I've seen. Not for the feint-hearted... 9/10
Saw the preview for grindspoon - look fwd to it!

lets put 'yonks' out there on comments/discussion page...Ian/Boston normally has something to say about Wikipedia if that's where Bollocks was paraphrasing from.

Billy, It was gorgeous wasn't it. Have thought about it a lot since I saw it. My 23 y-o daughter said she had a hard time realising that this was happening in her own lifetime. Really lovely movie.

I love the movies, but have gotten pretty much out of the habit of going to the shows, preferring to wait and see them at home. I did return and two out of the three movies I was interested in have not been discussed( or have I overlooked the comments?) Hubby loved 300...too violent for me, He More...

Mama - I don't think amazing Grace/Reign Over Me have been mentioned.

Lots of good movies have been around, they get distributed for opening around the globe at different times it seems. I have given the thumbs up for movies that some people have not enjoyed...my tastes vary greatly...but More...

I should add that I was hoping my friend would go with the Lives Of others ( i was going on mary's recommendation) because it was her turn to choose!

Ah Billy, another friend with good taste!

Thanks Billy for the information...I'll be sure to share when I return to the shows. If you do happen to see either Grace or Reign, I'd love your input. Yes, all movies and books are subjective, but it does help to know what others think! Great page...keep it going.
