DVD - Venus - had wanted to see this film for sometime. Loved it, and loved watching Peter O'toole. Can understand why this movie made some people feel uncomfortable re the relationship between old man and young girl...8/10

I saw Harry Potter last night. As a purist of the book, thought that they missed out on some simple things and felt that they glossed over other details, such as Dumbledore's Army that I thought might be hard to understand if you haven't read the book. Can't remember that ending in the book either! I loved Luna Lovegood, she far exceeded my imagination. Would give it a 7.5/ 10

Hey Em - Kreacher was pivotal in the book, you hardly notice him in the film...Bec was far happier with Emma Watson's performance this time round. I can't remember much of the book, but I always like seeing quidditch being played..maybe next time...wonder if Disney World will build a quidditch stadium?

Billy, quidditch was hardly played in Book 5, Delores Umbridge banned it and when she did allow it Harry had his broom confiscated along with some other Gryffindor players (George and Fred I think). Must agree that the actors are much better in this movie - it was amazing to see the flashback to Harry from the first movie. He looked so young.

Saw 'Evening' with my Mum, (along with every second person in the cinema). Watchable.

Fancy that Mary - saw Evening last night. I think I must be getting cynical in my old age as i found it too trite. I expected 'more' from the array of such fabulous actresses...but I felt i got 'little'. Oh hum...Did like Meryl though.

hey Billy, it's been done before but the acting and scenery were nice. That's about all I ask from a 'Mum' picture.

Just read the news that the German actor who played the Stasi Officer in Lives of Others has died. He was wonderful in that role and deservedly won awards for his performance. That last scene still gives me goosebumps!

I love this page. I didn't know it was here. I usually rent movies from Netflix but with all the rain we've been having, it's good to get out of the house and actually go see a movie. Would highly recommend 'La Vie en Rose'. Great performance by the lead actress. Would also recommend the documentary 'Sicko'.

Lucky Miles...very laid back gentle movie with a good heart. Will not set the world alight and the humour may not travel but worth seeing.

La Vie En Rose - oh my gosh...what a life Edith had, was thoroughly saddened by it but still a film i would recommend, the actress/singer was excellent.8/10

I saw our very own Judy Davis on stage in that role before she left Aust for the US..she too was excellent in that role.

If you thought Edith Piaf had a hard life, then you should see Black Book. It is based on a true story about a Jewish woman in Holland as WW2 closes. There is death and betrayal, betrayal and death. Very dark and sad but I 'enjoyed' it, well acted and gripping. A film to think about afterwards.

...so it's about death and betrayal then? Think I need a bit of a breather - not sure if I could go another heavy film at the mo...The Simpsons maybe???

Ok - managed to treat Jaz to the smallest film theatre in Perth at Luna on Essex...saw Lucky Miles and I thoroughly enjoyed it. About boat people being dumped off the coast of WA and told if they just climbed up the sand dune a bus would pick them up on the otherside and take them to Perth...based on real life stories. Not sure how it would translate overseas...

Saw Sicko - Michael Moore doco...don't feel I can comment on what he had to say about the state of the US Health system. he lost a fair amount of credibiltiy when he waxed lyrical about the NHS in the UK - only positives when I have heard otherwise from people living there...andré - if you're More...

Billy, just don't mention MM to Ian or Jeb!! Saw Brick at a friend's place tonight. Really good. I meant to see it when it was at the movies but blinked and missed it. It's set around a high school and stars 'teenagers' but it is a murder story and pays homage to the noir films. Excellent script and altogether very well done.

Do you need to see the first 2?

No - not really...but they do give you an insight as to why he wants to get to the bottom of the dilemma he's in. The first one - The bourne Identity? - I thought was incredibly slick for a thriller as thrillers go...and so I was hooked on the outcome of Jason's plight.

and I gather that he still hasn't resolved anything and No.4 is in the offing?

Shut up and sing...good doco on the Dixie Chicks and the land of 'free' speech.

Saw "Bourne Ultimatum" and it was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Action packed, kept you at the edge of your seat, biting your nails, til the end movie. Probably best to see on the big screen to get the full effect, but definitely a must-see rental when it comes out on dvd.

Mary - I'm not going to say whether Jason's problems were resolved...except to say that Matt Damon is talking about doing no.4...

Saw "Away with her" - film on alzheimer's and a couple's struggle with it. A very poignant film which had me in tears at More...

I loved Jason Bateman in Arrested Development....he can be a very funny actor

I meant wiled away - which still looks wrong...don't think I've seen Arrested Development - shall look for it as well as polanski's macbeth which I've decided to do a review on as an assignment - hope I can find it.

Went to see Atonement the other week. Loved it. The cinematography was wonderful. Not sure how true it is to the book as I haven't read it. Keira knightley although looking slightly anorexic played her part well and the young Briony was wonderful.. very poignant 8 1/2 out of 10

Hi everyone. I saw "Death at a Funeral" yesterday, and enjoyed it very much. It's a darkly funny British movie, and was fun.8/10.

Just went to see 'Hairspray' today. Very funny movie. I'd gone off John Travolta lately but he/she was brill in this! 7/10
