Rain and tornado producing storm now due here about 10 am Wednesday It is now almost 7 am. At least will be dalight! and the 'atmosphere is not as it was, calming down. I hope we get the rain and no storms. My sis said it would probably take a hurricane to gring rain. Instead it was tornado breakout!

You would think the cold front with lots of rain would have been good for the mountains where forest fire raged. what started as brush fire, fire that keeps low to ground, burning off underbrush, quickly raged to almost fire tornadoes. Steady winds of 50 MPH with gusts of 70 mph (80-116 kph) residents and vacationers had MINUETS, as few as 5, to evacuate. from ridge of the mountains (foot hills of the Alleghenies mountains) at entrance to the Great Smokey mountain national park, winding roads, 2 lane, with switchbacks , in the dark and wind, and fire all around, driving through towering flames, over fallen burning trees. Hotels resturants in Gattlingburg gone, homes gone. Gattlingburg, a resort town is still too dangerous to enter. nearby Dollywood, and Peigion fordge, Dolly Parton home and amusment park were not as hard hit, I read. Tragic night for them all. The winds proceeded the actual rain, and rain did help to get fire contained. long news clip if link works.

I am MOST upset with pain clinic. last drug they phoned in was Prodin, another name for prozak. SRI kind of antidepressant, and takes up to 3 weeks to work? , and the list of all the bad side effects are symptoms I am already having. dizzy, confusion, sleeplessness, unable to concentrate, on and on like they just named everything going on with me now along the headache. list to long for me to remember ATM, but if I had filled that yesterday instead of the new drug for migraine, forget the name OLD OLD drug I took in my 20's for migraine. These also are $5 each! How the hell does big pharma get a copyright on a drug so very old! been around 50 years or more, aaaaggggh similar to ones pain clinic prescribed, but without caffeine. if pharmacy had not caught the NO ANTIDEPRESSANTS on my list of allergies and serious side effects, I would have been in hospital by now, possibly in psych lockdown, side effects that bad!

I do not think that pain clinic doc or nurse pract EVER looked at my chart! One mistake after another, bad bad bad. I see them in 2 days, and I hope to clear up a few misconseptions about me with them.

Just back from my visit with my lawyer. I like her. After telling her some stories of things he's pulled (which could have some effect on the divorce, such as him forging my signature on bank loans to use the farm for collateral for business loans) she now calls him a classic sociopath.

Food for thought:

In ancient Greece, women didn't start counting their age until they were married.

Does this mean that I'm forever 37? That beats Jack Benny, who was forever 39.

'Tis the Xmas season, which means parking is now impossible in town. I called D and got her to meet me at the mall. We put some stufffor the kids on lay away, then decided to see if the parking up town had eased up so I could buy my groceries. Couldn't get out of the parking lot because a woman had been hit by a car on the crossing. She walked to the ambulance, when it eventually got there.

Re A 10 for attend, I tried unsuccessfully to change that several times, Talk to text was not hearing it any other way. think whomever can hear nicely, just cannot translate southern redneck hehehe.

Al Story: he had complaint about charge from current phone plan, re:charges to overseas number, for business. Went to web site of that service provider, but print Advert of low rates for such calls. Thought it worth the risk to return that phone call for infiormation for geodesic dome. the '$1.oo a min and he would TRY to keep n=minuets short , TRY being opperative word. Long conservation, no sale forthcoming, Oh well, nothing ventured . . . . Month later and his $30 min cal was over $350 for that call, TEN TIMES what he saw on website. Phoned co, got non native american English speaker telling him, no no, not $1, you got wrong plan! $10 a min and sur charges, did not anser Al's questions honestly, Al felt. He wanted someone to talk to who woul understand him. Asked the speaker, who identified himself as Bob, in heavy accent. much younger sounding, was asked 'what did your momma call you, young man? and later insisted to speak to a supervisor, 'someone who understands and speaks USA American redneck :). BTW, he got the call charge reduced to price it should have been as advertised. Mr E needs someone who peaks as well as AL, to advocate for him hehehe.

Bit of a tummy wog, lots of 'wind', who needs that same person,

Whomever did it, set fire in area where most likely to cause deaths. narrow, winding roads with switchbacks, coming down from the ridge. Residents with less than 5 min to grab and go. Media hype, Gattlingburg is not GONE, but it has been hit a serious blow. Sensationalism by media at it's worse.

mr E is becoming too dependent on me, he will even tell others offering ti do things for him, No Tricia will do it. Tricia cannot do it all, told him so, and he did ask his sitter to do one thing , an improvement :).

Heidi, I also wonder the same. What is the world coming too?

Meds working, hope to get my 8 hours again tonight. Really helps me through the long day. EP staff heard of just some of the things happening, and said second floor of EP2 was having just too much fun. Short version of part,

chaplain was in talking with me, aout all the stuff happening in my life now. As we opened door for her to leave, we hear smoke alarm in someone's apartment. A or B. A could handle it, B has difficulty. Judy chose B as source of the alarm. Knocked on door. her frightened dog escaped. ran toward me. somehow I reached down and scatched him. Said just a bit too much excitement for me. Mr E who was in wheel chair, behind me, going out for an 'airing' said of course it was all because he chose to come out of his room. I said, nope, Mr E. You are not that important. Everyone laughed abut that, and the story soon was back on first floor. Linda whose Office is on 1, is one who said we were having just too much fun hehehe

Hugs, love and billy goats :)

From the too fun second floor

A few hours ago, a neighbor (a mile away) called and asked if I had seen his missing dog I told him I hadn't, but my dogs would allert me if it showed up. About 15 minutes ago, the dogs went off, LOUD. I bundled up (it's down to freezing outside), grabbed a leash, and went outside. It was their dog, a Great Pyranees, along with a little Beagle mix. The Pyr was fence fighting with the collies (a great game since they can't reach each other.) I called the Pyr's owner and he rushed over for his dog and the mix, since it belongs to his immediate next door neighbors. I had his Pyr on a leash, and the Beagle mix was too friendly to go away by itself. My collies are alming down now. And a good deed done. They can't all be big deeds.

I was at the dentist's yesterday. We got the molar recemented in. I was surprised that it didn't hurt (just tingled a bit, tho' I haven't had a root canal in that tooth. Yet.) It did answer a mystery. When I went in for my cleaning last week, they found a small infection with pus at the edge of that tooth, but no reason for what caused it. Now we know. I like getting answers. And the infection had cleared up by yesterday. Having the crown fall off, and flushing it out with water before I put the crown back in place was what the area needed.

We finished off the last of the finger buns from our adventure the other day. Was that only 2 days ago? Wow.

MizT, the last time I had an MRI I spent the whole time looking down at a dead man. It must have been the banging noise it makes that sent me back 19 years. I have to have another one early next year. Sigh. I'm better prepared this time so it may not be as bad. I've never found them claustrophobic though. They feel wide open to me. I can't imagine how bad that banging would have felt when you already had a nasty headache! Gentle hugs.

Julie, what you are doing now has become dangerous to both you and your husband, which is your right I suppose. but your struggling to stay awake to drive home, your level of fatigue, your vision problems are now putting the lives of anyone who shares the road with you in danger, too. That is not your right. It could also be illegal. PLEASE, let your children, your home health nurse, doctors, a social worker, some medical person or clergy know just what you said here. Ask for help, SCREAM for help, and again and again and again till you get help. print and show a person who can keep a confidence your post. Tell them what I said about this.

Legally, you have put yourself in danger by putting in black and white what you have here. IF you had even a fender bender, and the other party, even if they were responsible for the accident, had a lawyer who happened across that post, you would probably be found negligent, responsible, just by knowing you were driving impaired. You could loose everything you own, if a greedy person and greedy lawyer saw that and paired up together.

I am not being an alarmist, just stating facts as I know them. Please take this in the manner I send it, with love and concern. Huge hugs to you and your hubby. I care.

Suzy, perhaps you had an open MRI. Becauseof my size, and the smallness of the tube, at times going in and out, the big bad machine touched me. I often felt my arm growing warm. good thing warmth is my friend. the 2 people doing the test were wonderful. I shared my concern, they listened, and helped me every step of the way. for a bad experience, it was the best that could be. only good from whole ER trip, I know headaches are not from a brain bleed, or an aneurysm. Other thing, I found out my PCP's name really speeded things up. when asked doc's name, I did not mention the doc (that I did not see once again at pain clinic) I said PCP name. 'OH, we can take her right on back and get these tests done here, now.' ER doc even let me have my own pain medication fore going in for test, daughter had them. Brought them to me, tech in Imaging department even brought me water. Must remember that, just mention his name and magic. did I ever tell you, he is both a MD and a JD, doctor and lawyer. some credibility rubbed off on me, they seemed to suddenly know I was not a dug seeker. Nice to know

VERY, VERY good advice to Julie, MizT.
You can help NOBODY, including yourself, Julie, if you are killed or injured in an accident due to impairment.
Telling hospital staff that you're being treated at a pain management clinic can only help, since it proves that you genuinely need help instead of faking it to get drug prescriptions.... which a LOT of hospital staff suspect is everyone's motavation for visiting a hospital. Having a MD who is also a lawyer can even keep insurance companies from getting uppity.

I have had breakfast and now I have to fast for the next 4 hours until I have the CT scan. I hate the gunk you have to drink in the hour before the scan and last time they could not find a vein and had to call in a specialist with ultra sound to put the needle in. I will know the results on Wednesday.

Greetings to all!

Suzy, thank you for the safe wishes. I hope all's well with your family! Such an exciting time of year with grandies!

June, I'll be thinking of you as you have the CT scan. Not particularly fun. You'd think they could find some way to make the 'gunk' more palatable. I'm sure it's been called far worse! Hopefully they'll send in the person who has the very best luck finding a vein! In some ways, that's worse than drinking the gunk.Definitely NOT fun! Good luck!

Heidi, many/most of our neighbors work, but I will certainly investigate. I looked into Uber, and price would be more than $40 for each way. The difficulty for a neighbor is that it's hard to predict how long things will take. We allow 1 1/2 hours for each way, so at least 4 hours if you allow an hour to see the doctor for one appointment. We were shocked that last Friday we left the house at 9 and got home just before 6 p.m. All he had was an ultra sound in the morning (with almost an hour waiting), a check in with nurse practitioner in the afternoon, and trial to remove the Foley catheter, which takes at least 1/2 hour to an hour. We had to pack a lunch, supplies in case we needed to replace the ostomy bag, change of clothes in case of a leak, etc. What seems like it should be just 2 short appointments took an entire day.

Heidi, great idea to get the calves well fed before the sale!

And now, I'm off to bed. But first, sending , healing energy, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and positive thoughts!

I got my first feedback from Rede's new home. He has a new harem and is happy as a lark. They're still stunned by his awesome disposition. They didn't know a bull could be so sweet tempered. And they're long time Angus breeders!!! I'm going down to visit him once the calves have been sold. Wait until they see what Rede produces! I bet they'll be the best muscled calves they've ever owned.

Some old, Some may be new, to you...

I found this timely, because today I was in a store that sells sunglasses, and only sunglasses. A young lady walks over to me and asks, 'What brings you in today?'

I looked at her, and said, 'I'm interested in buying a refrigerator.” She didn't quite know how to respond.

Am I getting to be that age?

I was thinking about how a status symbol of today is those cell phones that everyone has clipped onto their belt or purse. I can't afford one. So I'm wearing my garage door opener.

I was thinking about old age and decided that old age is when you still have something on the ball, but you are just too tired to bounce it.

I thought about making a fitness movie for folks my age and calling it 'Pumping Rust.'

When people see a cat's litter box they always say, “Oh, have you got a cat?” Just once I want to say, “No, it's for company!”

Employment application blanks always ask who is to be called in case of an emergency. I think you should write, ‘An ambulance.'

The older you get the tougher it is to lose weight because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.

The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble..

Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words ' The' and ' IRS ' together it spells 'Theirs...'

Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Some people try to turn back their 'odometers.' Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

Ah! Being young is beautiful but being old is comfortable.

Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.

May you always have Love to Share, Cash to Spare, And Friends who Care

Funny stuff, DOrA! Thanks.

Juicy stuff learned today: Her name is Joanna. She's a minister in a church! (Apparently, neither of them sees anything wrong with Christians committing adultery.) She owns a 12 bedroom Bed & Breakfast in Bardstown, KY (a VERY upscale community). I was also told that she's a neatness freak, is hyper, and swears like a sailor. The person who told me about this (one of IH's employees) can't stand her or her hypocrisy.

Heidi - if she is so well-heeled, go for broke with IH - alimony, the lot. He ha betrayed you in such a rotten way, he deserves itl
June - hope all is well with the last lot of tests. Julie - Hope hubby is on the improve - it is so hard being dependent on others, but I am sure your friends would love to help in any way they can. It is hard for them being on the outer and not doing anything. MizT - so sorry you have had such a hard time with the migraines and meds. Now tornadoes - what next? Hubby and I took off for a few days (he was really stressed from work) and went to Echuca - a country town in mid Victoria. A lovely couple of days with 32-38 degree heat. But now back at work with more pressure. Had our house treated for termites last week and they are still swarming at night inside - so disgusting, turns out neighbours have had a nest near our fence for 2 years and didn't do anything about them. Mean me hopes they infest their house... Appt at hospital again today - one foot is so swollen from meds that I can only wear thongs - and 3 monthly skin check. My friend is also going into hospital today to start chemo - late stage lymphoma. So very sad. (especially as it is the anniversary of her mum's death now).

Hi, Friends! I hope all are well!

Heidi, what fun to get the update on Rede! Maybe his new owners will 'brag' about him to others and it will mushroom into a consulting business.

Thanks for the funnies, DOrA! Many of them were new to me, and I appreciate the laughs!

Heidi, what interesting juicy information. I'm shocked that a minister owns a bed-and-breakfast.She is either independently wealthy or has been paid VERY well by her congregation. Or she was previously married and got a great settlement. It sounds like an interesting match . . .

MizT, we're thinking of you and hope all is well!

Midge, I'm glad you and hubby were able to get away for a few days. I hope the pressure at work will lessen. Hopefully the swelling in your foot will go down. Sending prayers for your friend with late-stage lymphoma.
