As Keith noted - there seems to be something more going on than just a ripple in the photo. I notice that also and now ask - what is it? Interesting carving or ????? What do you think?

Seeing this larger version, it looks like water. I think it was Plum that suggested somebody threw a rock in and the picture was snapped in mid-splash. That's what it looks like to me, too.

Yes,it was me, Keith!!!
HalT suggested a turtle - does look a bit like a stretched turtle neck & 2 strange flippers, but I still think it's splash from a thrown rock!!!

My thought was it was a terrified frog.
