Oh, you are going to China? How marvelous, and for research? most interesting, would love to hear a bit about that if you can tell. I have a son in law who left research for private sector, his area was Analytical chemistry and quantum physics, and I almost understood some of what he did, I could at least ask intelegent questions hehe. . . . Ok, maybe not intelegent, but not too dumb.

Hello Jim, and I am glad you are finding the air quality OK. There has been a lots of adverse publicity over here, and some of the athletes are being based in Malaysia or Singapore, and only being flown in for their events. Probably just another media 'beatup'!! The 'blue cube' looks fantastic More...

Will you be able to see any of the Olympics?

My dream, since I was a child was to go to the Olympics. In 1984, the Olympics came to us in LA. We took our vacation that year and attended events everyday from the Opening to the Closing Ceremonies. It wasn't a cheap vacation, but at least More...

If I remember correctly that in 1984 Opening was $400 and closing was $200. We were lucky in the lottery to purchase tickets we got best for opening (about 40 yard line - 30 rows up). Our closing tickets were not quite as good about 20 yard line and a lot higher. We had season seats for soccer More...

Enjoying your stuff from Beijing. Does your work schedule allow you to get to see any of the sporting events? Or are they not 'your thing'? I'm enjoying all these sports - even where we are not doing well - on a 37" LCD TV and undoubtedly seeing much more than if I was there. But it is not the same as actually being there is it? Roll on 2012.

Jim, I know you're in China and eagerly waiting for the arrival of the lovely Maureen! Here's a weird question for you for when you've got a spare minute ... if you can help, great, or perhaps point me in the right direction: if a man in Oregon physically assaults his wife/puts her in the More...
