A Priest was about to finish his tour of duty, and was leaving his Mission
in the jungle where he has spent years teaching the natives when he
realizes that the one thing he never taught them was how to speak English.

So he takes the chief for a walk in the forest. He points to a More...

Sad news going into the start of the Winter Olympics.... "Georgian luge competitor Nodar Kumaritashvili has died after launching from the track and hitting his head on a metal pole during a training run Friday at Whistler Olympic Park, the IOC has confirmed." What price glory?

Good morning all.
What sad news Greg! And a sad start to the Winter Olympics.
You asked us all to watch them. It will be hard to miss here in Oz, where we don't really have a large team representing us, - our pay TV provider seems to have about 12 channels dedicated to it. How they're More...

Happy Birthday to Julian and stlparrothead. Enjoy your special day!
I'll enjoy my weekend! I am all alone. Hubby has gone to Sydney with my son to see the Top Gear (British TV show) event. They won't be back until tomorrow.
Ah, the serenity! I can do what I like, when I like!

Enjoy your serenity, Cyn! I call those "Cereal-for-Dinner-Days!"

Great photo. I too would like to know more about it.

Greg, I hadn't heard about the accident. Very very sad.

Exactly, Judy! I am NOT (sorry for shouting) cooking tonight. If I can't find a frozen dinner in the depths of the freezer, I'll order a pizza - delivered, of course.

Happy Birthday to our Sudoku Queen Anne of Albany.

Daplap, I read the emails through and ache for the people who live there. Your friend must be an amazing person to consider her time there a gift. Rotary in Australia, I don't know about elsewhere, has a Shelter Box challenge. The box contains a 10 person tent, 10 blankets, cooking gear etc. More...

Happy Birthday to Anne/Albany indeed.

But where is she? Did she run off with Jamie, another missing person?
13/Feb/10 10:41 AM
Wow, I missed one!
Queen Anne - have a great day, your maj!
13/Feb/10 10:42 AM
Sparks, if she did, I'm sure Jamie's wife will have something to say about that!

A Glindagory:

Once there was a little zebra that lived in the wild. He spent most of his days grazing, but often enjoyed just resting in the shade of a large oak tree. He had an imaginary friend named Pete who spent a good deal of time with him under the tree as well, but sometimes Pete More...

correction: Pete was the name of the imaginary friend. The zebra did not have a name.

Hello. I'm having a very lazy Saturday. A dull and drizzly day in Canberra. Have just switched on the Opening Ceremony coverage from Vancouver. Spectacular so far!!!

98-year-old Mother Superior from Ireland was dying.

The nuns gathered around her bed trying to make

her last journey comfortable. They tried giving her

some warm milk to drink but she refused it.

One of the nuns took the glass back to the kitchen and

Hi guys, my husband's father is the middle boy. Sadly he passed away 2 weeks before my husband was born. He'd had rheumatic fever when he was young and it left him with a weak heart. The boy on the left also passed away when he was young, about 16 I believe. The family also their first child, a More...

Hi All, Birthday greeting to all celebrating today...enjoy !
I agree that the Olympics has gotten off to a sad start...it can only go uphill from here. Glad the Georgian team will compete in honor of their fallen teammate. I'm sure he would have wanted that, since he knew the hard work and effort it took to make the teams.
Heartfelt prayer to the family and friends. Peace!

Greg: K.D.Lang did your Country proud in the opening ceremony just as she does when she travels the world with her concerts. She is my fav female singer and I have seen her three times here in Oz. Once at the Melbourne Concert Hall, where usually Orchestra's perform. I recall her saying, after her More...

Many families, way back, had many children because they did not expect them all to survive.
13/Feb/10 5:54 PM
And now we do expect them all to survive, even when we push the boundaries very far (eg 24 week week gestation babies).
