'Morning all

Remember to be careful when imbibing with friends and family....

Q: How do you know you should not be driving because you have had too much to drink?

A: When you swerve to miss hitting a tree and then realize that it was only your car air freshener hanging from your rear view mirror!

I love photos that take me places in this world of ours! Here's what I've learned this morning:

Churchill is about 1/2way up the western side of Hudson Bay, at approx. 58.5 degrees latitude, the same as Juneau.

It is located in an ecotone area, which means that it is in a diverse More...

Vici - I think we could sneak over to Shosho's for dinner Thursday and she wouldn't even notice the extra people....
25/Nov/09 1:59 AM
 |  |

We are also having a small dinner. Just Jaime and me and our friends Pam and Jim who live down the street. Jim just had hip replacement surgery, so we might transport the dinner to their house.

Was anyone else just bumped off the site? I was trying to post my "Good Maen, everyone" message, when the screen went blank.

Hey Jane! Glad you made it back. If we didn't have to go to LA, I would love to crash Shosho's turkey dinner!
Plum - thank you so much for the information on Churchill - it sounds like a magical place. Would really love to visit there someday.

Shosho, we'll be driving right through your neighborhood on Friday ... would you save some leftovers for us?
25/Nov/09 2:26 AM

Judy - I'll take a picture of our bird. And thanks for the reminder. I need to send Jaime out to buy some Kingsford charcoal. The last time he bought charcoal, he bought an off-brand, and it took forever to get the coals going.

Fabulous bear! Dreary, misty day here, just perfect for trudging up to the attic to get some of the Christmas decorations ...

Jane, I tried to get on several times about that time and couldn't. (So, I took the forced opportunity to my shower before trying again.)
You are right, Judy, Shosho will probably never notice a few extras... IF you don't wear your tiaras & freather boas, that is!
We More...

Make that ...to 'take' my shower.

Good morning everyone. The first of our Thanksgiving guests is showing up today. We are about to leave for the airport to pick up my Dad. Everyone else arrives tomorrow. No chefs in our family, so I'm the designated cook. I will be busy - but am happy to do it. I love Thanksgiving!!

Yes, Jane, I experienced "fail to load" for a bit. I just returned...

Shiela, Thanks for the invite. I currently have one from a family member and three from friends. Decisions, decisions. Of course family has to come first, all things being equal.

Linda, Though I don't cook much, it is much more enjoyable if it is for others. (I don't especially like cooking for myself.)

I do have to prepare the "family favorite" dessert. The thing that made / makes it special is that my mom would only make it twice a year. Thanksgiving & Christmas.

There was only one exception I remember. One year, for my birthday, shortly after returning from duty in RVN. (Needless to say, my siblings complained, bitterly.)

My Wife, now ex-wife did make it to bring to Hawaii when she met me there for R&R. She transported it in a "wig case". Imagine trying to fly with something like that, today.

There are advantages to being "more experienced". We lived in a more innocent world.
