First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason. My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol More...

Considering the pain and suffering of thousands of victims of gun violence and their families, I can't understand defending our current lack of gun control.
30/Jan/11 8:02 AM
thank heavens for our gun laws which restrict gun ownership significantly--and an ethos which does not valorise pro-gun attitudes. We do other things of course so I'm not being holier-than-thou. It's just that we've not got the runaway gun ownership AND attitudes which rationalise the use of guns More...

Hey! Ted Kennedy's car killed more people than my gun.

Is everyone enjoying puzzle day?
I really thought it would be our day, since some of us do the the actual Sudoku puzzles, then the others do the jigsaw. It is like our very own special day, that we celebrate everyday.
30/Jan/11 8:09 AM
yes ma'am loving the jigsaws except the weird levis one--I agree with the others--it IS a bit creepy

House hunting is exhausting. We told the realitor what we were interested in and he said he had two prefect houses that we had to see. One of them, Man had already looked at. The first one had many outside issues, like it was located on a curve on a main street that leads to the school, which means More...

If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theatre of operations during the last 22 months, and a total of 2,112 deaths,(when this was written) that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per
100,000 soldiers.

The firearm death rate in Washington D. C. is More...

OK, Karen, I guess we can change the subject......

Third house, we viewed the outside, one of the major downsides we saw about this house is the Interstate noise, which I believe a few barrier trees and we will have our peace. A big plus, was across the street, where in the front yard was a Barbie Jeep. The back yard is double fenced in, one area More...

Oh, not on my account, Jerry. Though, I think gun topic is like a politcal topic, we all have our own views, which is great.
To add my two cents. I would not live out here with a gun. Though they scar the mess out of me. I pointed a gun one time, with the intent to at least hurt who ever was in More...

Oh, should add, that there was not an intruder in my house, as I had thought. My dog climbed through the bathroom window. She also knew how to open doors. Sometimes, having smart dogs is not always a good thing.

While I am on a role, I don't think the lady agent appreciated me checking out the houses, especially when I stomped on board underneath the sinks where I noticed some water damage, or when I kicked the wall where water heater and washer hook ups were located.
30/Jan/11 8:29 AM
Now, that I changed the subject and everyone ran away, I think I will go and have some pillow therapy.
30/Jan/11 8:30 AM
Well I can certainly understand that some might prefer to be the victim of unspeakable violence rather than defending themselves. I think some would call them masochists. I would call them foolish.
30/Jan/11 8:36 AM
well Karen, it would seem that guns and houses are surefire conversation killers.
30/Jan/11 8:37 AM

Karen, just ask yourself who is paying for the property. So why can't you check it out?

I am moved to speak.
I am have qualified as 'Marksman' with the 9mm pistol.
I was taught gun handling and gun safety as a youth and it was further drilled into me in the School cadets and the Air Force.

A man was complaining to a friend:

"I had it all - money, a beautiful house, a big car, the love of a beautiful
woman; then, Pow! it was all gone!"
"What happened?" asked the friend.
"My wife found out..."

I do not like guns. A neighborhood school (in fact the high school I went to many, many years ago) a child brought a gun to school. Said he was scared. But backpack fell to the floor and discharged. The one bullet went through neck of one student and lodged in the head of another. He didn't intend to shoot anyone but he accidentally did almost kill one of his peers.

Ian, I have already asked Jerry to re-think his position, and unfortunately he seems to be adamant in supporting it. No offense meant Jerry, or Eve, or anyone who supports the right to own guns, but don't you realize that we don't want to hear about "the right to bear weapons." Why anyone More...

Pillow therapy was going so well, then Man had to start up one of his manly tools.

Jack, the ugly looks coming from our agents, we had a husband/wife team, did not stop me from kicking on walls, pulling on doors, climbing on shelving, slamming cabinets and doors...basically everything I More...

Greg, thanks for your support.
Jerry, like everyone else, is entitled to his opinions, but if he wants to convince me he'll have to use better logic than he has used so far.
Hi Jerry.
30/Jan/11 10:45 AM
OK - change of subject - the big game tomorrow:

Neighbors bought a new toy, all afternoon, we have heard, boom, boom, boom. I believe, they believe, the more guns they have the better off they are. That is fine. Though they worry me, since, one of them has anger issues, and a horrible temper when he has had way too much to drink. I grew up with More...
