I'll bet there's a story behind that pup's name!
05/Sep/15 12:07 AM
I'm not sure why but I'm getting a lot of Star Wars stuff in my email. Chewie fits perfectly with that.

1. Balloon

The first balloon was invented in 1709. Now, balloons are used as an airship design, in celebrations, and even in medicine! Military use of the balloon first occurred in the More...

'That Sam is one rich man!' muttered Tom. 'As a matter of fact, he owns 100 or more camels.'
'Not a chance,' replied John, 'I know for a fact he owns fewer than 100 camels.'
Frank joined in, 'Well, he owns at least one camel.'

If only one of their statements is true, how many camels does Sam own?

Answers to my ‘’camel’’ inbox please.

Heads up... not sure when I'll be able to post the weekend poozle tomorrow. Got an 8k in the morning, then a street festival following that. I'll see if I can dig up some more Double-Speak Proverbs this time!

Good morning to all! Chewie would we welcome in my home anytime, as long as he doesn't chew my slippers!

Serena, how in the world does the clue kangaroos, dingos, and kookaburras relate to finding missing people or indicate one's position? Makes no sense to me.
05/Sep/15 12:39 AM
Yup. That's what I said yesterday.
05/Sep/15 12:45 AM
Serena said #5 didn't make sense! Greg, my thoughts are that it doesn't indicate a position (despite the explanation), but would be a call and repeat to locate someone who's missing once the two parties make initial contact. ...I'd think a whistle would be more effective with its shrill tone.

As for kangaroos, dingos, and kookaburras ('oh my!')... uh, maybe the whole lost in the wilderness thing? It's definitely a long stretch.
05/Sep/15 12:48 AM
Okay, back to work as much as I don't want to!
05/Sep/15 12:49 AM
Wombat got the answer right away. We might have to wait for him to show up and clarify.

Med update: Saw my primary today. He said everything looks/sounds great. But he doesn't know what caused the allergic reaction, and wants me to see a specialist. I've got my doubts about that but guess I don't have much choice.
I will keep you updated.

According to my Australian Slang Dictionary: (http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html)

Cooee, not within : figuratively a long way away, far off - England weren't within cooee of beating Australia at cricket
Cooee, within : nearby - I was within cooee of landing a big fish when the line broke. He lives within cooee of Sydney.
