damnation — beaver colony

...and here's today's factoid:
Beavers were hunted to extinction in England in the 12th century.

It has been my experience that puppies, kittens, and babies can fall asleep anywhere, anytime. Don't you wish we could still do that as we get older?

Kathy(V) – Yesterday you asked me, ‘’Hal, how could you watch a movie with all that great basketball going on? The earlier Louisville - Wichita State game was great, too.’’

Then, in your very next comment, you answered your own question. ‘’My pulse & blood pressure have finally returned to More...

A good night on the sports front last night, other then Wichita's loss in the last three minutes. Michigan is in the final (GO WOLVERINES) and Canada defeated Scotland to advance to the gold medal game at the Men's World Curling championships. Needless to say, I was channel surfing last night.

Kayo, that's why the Hudson's Bay store did so well in Canada way back when. They traded for beaver pelts and sent them all to England where they were made into beaver coats and hats.

Jim, the ski hills are still going strong up here. Still a good base on most of them.

Hal, you make a good point! Maybe I should watch a movie instead of the game on Mon. night?? I'm having a hard time keeping calm these days. Best case scenario might be to be in the delivery room with Kyley, miss all that tension at the end of the game, & come out with a new healthy grandson and a Wolverine win!

Greg - congrats on Canada's win in curling & getting the beloved #22 (glad I typed a long comment & didn't steal your spot!).

Vici.... your platypus reminds me of a backwards beaver.... with the flat, wide, tail on the face.

Beavers are far from extinct here. Our neighborhood has a LOT of them. They're so populous that they even destroy corn crops gathering building materials.

I personally didn't have any problem watching a movie with all that great basketball? going on. Guess I'm just not a good sport.

BTW - Daniel Craig, the current James Bond, had a supporting role in ''Laura Croft - Tomb Raider''. A few years younger then. (Weren't we all)

Lynne and I have run away from home again, but just for a few days. We've driven 4 1/2 hours south to Carmel by the Sea, that famous village that had Clint Eastwood as their mayor for a few years. The downtown is full of shops selling stuff that is interesting to look at, but WAY out of our price range.
