For those wanting to know, Junes fire has been brought under control this afternoon and it has been pouring rain on my trip to work tonight which isn't very far from June's Epping, so hopefully the rain arrived at June's fireground too and put it right out. (reposted) 09/Nov/13 12:20 AM |  |

 Good morning to all! 09/Nov/13 1:11 AM |  |
I'm not sure where Mr Cee is, so here is a puzzle for all of you to ponder, all curtails: 1. To shine or flash intermittently-> a character in the Legend of Zelda who uses light arrows2. A brittle material that can be optically transparent-> a damsel or young girl3. To look at More... 09/Nov/13 1:13 AM |  |
Look like beheaders to me, Greg. And what inbox should we use?? 09/Nov/13 1:38 AM |  |
Good news, Shiela! I hope her recovery is fast and uneventful. 09/Nov/13 1:49 AM |  |
We had another night of freezing temps. And it's supposed to be getting steadily colder each day for a while, too. ''They'' are even calling for snow here next Tuesday! 09/Nov/13 1:51 AM |  |
Poor Greg can never tell the difference between curtails and beheaders. Does that mean he can't tell his head from his a\$\$? 09/Nov/13 1:53 AM |  |
Is the middle one a real puppy or an extraordinarily realistic stuffed animal? 09/Nov/13 1:59 AM |  |
CP, and now it's time to get busy today. 09/Nov/13 1:59 AM |  |
 I vote real puppy. 09/Nov/13 2:10 AM |  |
For those of you that might have missed yesterday's later posts, Hal and I are both benign ... and our test results are negative, too. At first I thought stuffed animal, looked closer, and ... 09/Nov/13 2:13 AM |  |
 GREAT NEWS, Keith! 09/Nov/13 2:16 AM |  |
Good morning people of world. 09/Nov/13 2:16 AM |  |
Brav the Bold In the today we have Wolf, Kathy, shosho, Heidi, Darwen Jim, Canuk Greg, Grass-hopper, and Doug W. Of course the prize is a pet dragon. to Shieka. 09/Nov/13 2:19 AM |  |
Shieka = Shiela. Here's the elimination process for you. Gringo the Gorgeous, first born of the king, could not be the winner because the winner was not the king's son. The winner and his parents were honored by the King. Abner the Able, whose only weapon was a More... 09/Nov/13 2:20 AM |  |
I'm having uncontrollable urges to do some baking. I blame all you people and your food talk over the last couple of days. 09/Nov/13 2:20 AM |  |

 And I hope it's not about Serena's cookies. 09/Nov/13 2:24 AM |  |
Serena, it is not our talk fault, it is that day. I am on my way to prepare cereal for M, so I am celebrating this day. 09/Nov/13 2:25 AM |  |
Shiela, I'm glad your grandniece's surgery went well. Here's hoping the recovery is as pain free and speedy as possible. Please let her know that a lot of people around the world are wishing her well. I'll start the ball rolling by sending from Maryland! 09/Nov/13 2:28 AM |  |
Thank you for the pet dragon, Serena. It's just what I wanted! A built in arsonist! I've wanted to have some excuse to rebuild this house from scratch, with a widely different floor plan. 09/Nov/13 2:32 AM |  |
Yes, sorry Hal. They are beheaders. Answers to my 'Snow's Coming' inbox please. 09/Nov/13 2:48 AM |  |
Liz, we missed that rain. It is still dry outside. We seem to have someone lighting the fires as we had one start about a week ago a bit further down the creek and at about the same time of the morning. That one was put out very quickly. Good news for all those getting back test results. 09/Nov/13 2:50 AM |  |
For CG, who occasionally doesn't remember what 'curtails' are... 'Doc,' says Arthur, 'I want to be castrated.' 'What on earth for?' asks the doctor in amazement. 'It's something I've been thinking about for a long time and I want to have it done', replies Arthur. More... 09/Nov/13 3:01 AM |  |
Neil, hopefully my mixing up curtails and beheaders doesn't have this kind of lasting effect on anyone! 09/Nov/13 3:15 AM |  |
Hmmm. I'm hoping one is a curtail.....and I'm completely stumped on another one. Have to think about it later, I'm off to lunch! 09/Nov/13 3:18 AM |  |
Hi CG, I do like your puzzles, even though I very rarely reply. A silly question - 'Why don't you say 'A mixture of beheaders and curtails.'' - or, even better, don't give any clues at all. I am sure that the puzzle-solvers are clever enough to work out what they are. Best regards. 09/Nov/13 3:35 AM |  |
Sorry to hear the rain didnt reach your fire June, just goes to show how fickle and patchy the weather is. The distance from where I was to where June is approx 14kms/8miles. Hopefully I got the bit about the fire being under control right. As for arsonists 09/Nov/13 3:37 AM |  |
trust an Englishman to think of that! 09/Nov/13 3:38 AM |  |
