One night, a drunk comes stumbling into a bar and says to the bartender: "Drinks for all on me including you, bartender." So the bartender follows the mans orders and says: "That will be $36.50 please." The drunk says he has no money so the bartender slaps him around and throws More...

Dorthea, I just ignore the hours change most of the time. If you rise with the sun and retire with the moon who cares. Whar difference would it make ? Once you are not reliant on getting children to school or to work. It makes no difference.

- You've heard the saying, "Laughter is the Best Medicine" -

A police officer pulls over a speeding car. The officer says,
'I clocked you at 80 miles per hour, sir.'

The driver says, 'Gee, officer, I had it on cruise control at 60. Perhaps

Ganniemo - I like to get up to Sudoku, so I do have a get up time, but sometimes I go back to bed later. Mostly I don't know or care what time it is. Crystal always calls me before comming, even if she is comming from school, which is only 1/2 a mile away. Her house is less than that, but you have to go around the railway track to get here and it takes longer.

Didn't even get on the first page!
Slept in for the first time in 2 1/2 years... diabetic cat is not on daylight savings time yet!
I accounted for the fact that Australia did NOT have a time change... but the machine did not!
Well! People ARE more intelligent than machines! But it didn't help today!

all. I forgot the site had changed over as a result of US daylight saving - the same thing happended last year until Gath (or the service providers) fixed it so it was Australian time. Here's me thinking I'd get first for the day and I'm somewhere on the second page!

Evening everyone - yes that cyclone started way up here in FNQ but has gone right along the Qld coast line - way back in 1974 was cyclone Wanda - crossed the coast just south of Double Island Point. One has crossed at southport many many years ago, can't remember how long early 1930.s I think

I am sooo happy. I have ankles this morning and can walk like a normal person. Even the girl noticed Mommy's feet were not big.

I was going to copy and paste the first 1,000 prime numbers but then I thought it would take up more than a page and that wouldn't do would it, and the largest 1,000 prime numbers might be offended if I left them out. So I started reading about Morphogenetic fields, fascinating stuff.
10/Mar/09 1:37 AM
Morphogenetic fields are created by the patterns of physical forms. They help guide the formation of later similar systems where a newly forming system "tunes into" a previous system by having within it a "seed" that resonates with a similar seed in the earlier form. I'm not sure that relates to the tomato sandwich I'm eating but it full of seeds.

10/Mar/09 1:40 AM
it *is, too many seeds...I should have stuck to prime numbers...

Numbers 2 & 1 may have to wait a day or two, as I may not have access...
10/Mar/09 1:59 AM
No, no, no Jerry that is not acceptable. You must have access, because I need to know.

If you cannot tell, I am interested in these posts. They are tragic, but interesting.
10/Mar/09 2:01 AM
Jerry - If you can't get access at home, try the local library. We wouldn't want to send Karen's blood pressure in a tail spin. You might have to renumber your list afterwards!

yes André.. indeed its fascinating.I have a different topic tho, tonite, but it is relevant to the current happening..Daylight saving(s)!!

Does Daylight Saving Time Conserve Energy?
10/Mar/09 2:17 AM
Starting this month, roughly one quarter of the world’s population will lose sleep and gain sunlight as they set their clocks ahead for daylight saving. People may think that with the time shift, they are conserving electricity otherwise spent on lighting..
10/Mar/09 2:18 AM
But recent studies have cast doubt on the energy argument—some research has even found that it ultimately leads to greater power use.
10/Mar/09 2:18 AM
Have you ever wondered who would have come up with such a great idea earlier??
10/Mar/09 2:19 AM
It is none other than our own Benjamin Franklin, who conceived this idea in order to consrve the candles!!that was way back in 1784..

Researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and their colleagues looked at myocardial infarction rates in Sweden since 1987 and found that the number of heart attacks rose about 5 percent during the first week of daylight saving time...this rise may result from the disruption of sleep patterns and biological rhythms.
10/Mar/09 2:26 AM
On the other hand, the clock shift could help prevent traffic accidents by enabling more people to drive home in sunlight
10/Mar/09 2:27 AM
8 to 11 percent drop in crashes involving pedestrians and a 6 to 10 percent dip in crashes for vehicular occupants have been observed.
