G'morning. 150 miles ExN of NYC. Flat calm. Another day closed in with fog. Mild temperatures, no wind at the moment. Rain and thunderstorms tonight, tomorrow, the day after...chronic local flood watches, generally not life-threatening. Predictions are that this year, summer will be on a Tuesday.
Do it to them before they do it to you.

Upon hearing that her elderly grandfather had just passed away, Katie went straight to her grandparent's house to visit her 95 year old grandmother and comfort her.

When she asked how her grandfather had died, her grandmother replied, He had a heart attack while we More...
What a refreshing view, makes me long for cooler weather as we are having 90+ degree weather. Good Maen!!!
I want to thank everyone for the support, but it really wasn't necessary. I do appreciate it though! My friend, Nancy, passed away yesterday. Please don't offer me sympathies. My attitude towards her death is simple: I do not cry over the loss of a friend, but smile over having had the More...
Thought for the day (sorry andre but I couldn't resist):

Don't frown. You never know who is falling in love with your smile.
One for Baz and Beehive:

Why are electric trains like women's br**sts?
They were designed for kids, but the father usually winds up playing with them.
One last for today:

A woman tells her husband that she wants to have plastic surgery to enlarge her br**sts. Her husband states, 'You don't need surgery to do that. I know how to do it without surgery.'

The woamn asks, 'How do I do it without surgery?'

A bloke was swatting flies and his wife asks,

'How many did you get?'

'Six' he replied, 'two male and four female.'

'How do you know', she said.

'Two were on a beer can and four on the 'phone.'

Mamacita - while I would normally agree with your comment yesterday about any death being a tragedy, that just is NOT the case with al-Zarqawi. His death deserves to be celebrated by free people everywhere, without exception. In Iraq the people were dancing in the streets. They understand what More...
Good Maen everyone....

The previous comment was a repeat from 24 hours ago. However, it continues to have meaning today.
Warren loved Nancy's favret joke I've never heard that one before and I will save it thanks.
Glenn, well written and well thought out. I agree with you completely.
Cinji fr: Kansas Happy Birthday to your Daughter ♪♪♪♪ I was reading in the comments in the archives for last year and noticed it is also your Birthday coming up in 8 or 9 days.

Soccer Prediction: Socceroos will not win the World Cup.
Rugby on Sunday : God knows who will win between the Wallabies and the Lions.
Cricket: Any one got a spare ticket for the Ashes Test in Perth?
Glenn, I coubt that many would disagree with you. The only pain that I feel at his death is that such a person ever existed.
Warren, what a lovely attitude. I think the fact that Nancy was so ill and is now at peace and free of pain makes all the difference. Are you able to solve the puzzle in yesterday's comments?
Glen Didn't Iraqies also dance on the streets after 9/11?
mamacita at least you retained some humanity
The Age yesterday printed a copy of what is said to be the world's funniest joke, which is based on script written by Spike Milligan in 1951 for the Goons show. The joke runs as follows: Two hunters are out in the woods in New Jersey when one collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes More...

I also read that the first person to be convicted of keeping xes slaves in Australia has been jailed for 10 years. She arrived from China 8 years ago, but of course it wasn't her fault as she had an oppressed childhood. I believe that in the US she would be deported after completing her sentence, but I don't think that's the case here. If not, it should be.
John - you are correct. And your point is...?

Glenn - remind me to never get on your bad side.

Susan - I think Ed posted the answer to the puzzle but he didnt post why. The answer to that is that all the numbers are squares.
