2:43. Remarkable picture. I feel like the monkeys are right here with me!

Warren: It's actually not raining today. Maybe you will keep the rain away!
OK ... what's a holiday shack??
December birthdays - we've got them too! Last night celebrated mine (the 11th), our daughter (the 14th) and my father-in-law (the 18th). And as some of you also do/did we never put up the Christmas decorations until after the 14th so our daughter's birthday would be seperate from Christmas. (She's 34 now so we do it whenever we please!)
Hi Barb. Been a long time since you posted. Belated Happy Birthday, to several in your family it seems! Best wishes for the holiday season!
Good morning to all in Sudokuland
Judy: A Holiday shack is a small holiday home. It is usually a bit rough, made out of tin or fibro and situated on a river, beach or remote area so people can get away from the rat race.
That sounds wonderful, TOPAZ! Thanks. Do they have the amenities, like plumbing and electricity? Do a lot of people have them?
For a fire update, I copies this from the CFA site. Our fire team returned from Hayfield yesterday after spending nearly 2 weeks down there.

STATEWIDE OVERVIEW
There are currently 4 fires going(out of control) in the eastern half of the State, covering an area in excess of 600,000 More...
Judy. I can't answer those questions, as I don't know of anyone who has a 'Shack'. I know a few people who have a holiday home, which is really a small home away from home. My understanding of a shack is that it is basic amenities without luxuries.
Merry Christmas to all!

We are heading out at dawn tomorrow to drive to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for Christmas with my wife's entire family. Her parents and sister (including our brother-in-law and their three children) live there. Her brother is driving More...
Barbara - Sorry I missed your Dec. 11 birthday so here's a belated . Hmm, are you a member of the Sexy 60's club yet??? There are five of us that I know of born in 1946 - Sandra of Derbyshire, Judy of SD, GannieMo, you, & I. Anybody else out there???
Wow, Glenn, sounds like you're in for some great eating! Hope you have a safe trip & a wonderful Christmas with ALL those relatives. Please tell Robyn I said hi from Valrico!
Barbara - Sorry I counted you as born in 1946. Bet you're not quite 60 yet.
Good Morning! It's December 18. In the Gregorian Calendar, December 18 is the 352nd day of the year (353rd in leap years), at which point there will be 13 days remaining to the end of the year. Ten years ago today, in 1996 the Oakland, California school board passed a resolution officially More...
we're off to see the cricket, the wonderful cricket in Oz.

Judy, the shack I was talking about had no running water, but a river nearby, no electricity and a genuine country dunny up the hill. It was a great place to leave the ratrace behind, relax in the clean county air, do a bit of trout fishing or just rest in the shade of a big gum tree and listen to the sounds of the birds..
Kathy (Valrico) we go husband 12/2, #1 son 12/10. brother 12/12, #2 son 12/15, brother's grandson 12/18. We don't wait for the last one; but might not get too much done this Christmas; my husban just heard that his aunt died, and he will be traveling to Va and W Va for her funeral and interment More...
Happy Birthday for last week Barbara
Hi all...Well I've been home for not quite two days and have decided to go back down the coast. I slept for most of it and feel my batteries have been recharged. Nicole wont be out of hospital until about Wednesday (I think) and Nicole has told Matt he should go back to work until she does come More...
Billy, keep the boys up to pace-we need to win this!!!! Have a great day
This is so cool. I went to visit my mum and she was playing these and I thought she was way weird, and now I play it, it's rather addicting lol..
IAN: Your Holiday Shack sounds wonderful ... will you be able to rebuild it? Our little cabin is pretty rustic, too, and many that visit tell us how we could improve or modernize it ... they just don't GET it, do they? Simple and minimal is so much more relaxing and less complicated. One question: You have to walk UP the hill to the dunny? Yikes!
This wuz so funny!!!

Warren from Philly - enjoy your holiday and a Merry Christmas to you. Don't let the big one get away. Enjoy your fishing.
Similar to the previously-posted fruit cake recipe, but with a Southern California bent ...

TEQUILA COOKIES

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup of granulated sugar

Billy, don't forget the bikini so we can see you on TV??

Mel i needed your checklist 2 hours ago - I have forgotten my bloody camera! But at the office right now and have been given one to take. Mary -forgot the bikini too - but didn't want to be arrested for indecent exposure...should be a great day - see you soon mel!!!x
Judy/SD, good morning/evening
just copied your receipe 'Tequila Cookie' to give to Robert, he is into Tequila!!!!!! :-0
Hey, ROLA! I think tequila is yukky except in a good Margarita! :)
Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.

'In honor of this holy season' Saint Peter said, 'You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven.'

The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He More...
JUDY, he came home from the overseas trip with a bottle for himself (in Australia 18 is the legal age).
I don't think I have ever tasted Tequila, so I wouldn't know if its yukky, knowing me, probably wouldn't like it.
I'll stick with the G&T thanks !!!!
Billy and Mel: enjoy your day at the Cricket.
Judy/San Diego, It was a wonderful holiday shack. Unfortunately, I can't see it being rebuilt for quite a while. But you never know. As for the dunny up the hill, don't worry. Technically it was higher than the building and therefore UP the hill, but it was well away from the house. It was a great place for quiet contemplation.
You are too kind, Kathy! I'd have to do a U-turn to get BACK to 60! I was born in 1942. At our combined birthday celebration this week we were 94-64-34. My father-in-law, me, and my daughter are all 30 years apart, with me in the middle at 64.
IAN, I can think of a LOT of places I'd rather spend time contemplating than in an outhouse! LOL ... Like ... an inspiring mountain top, the shore of a rustling brook, a field of wildflowers, the sand with the ocean pounding in nearby, the tranquil desert in the wintertime, deep in the forest ...
