G'day mates, here's today's daffynition:
Wrinkle: n. Something other people have; I have character lines.

...And here's today's factoid: (Mads may be interested in this one)
On average, twins are born 24 days earlier than single babies.

Good Maen, good people. Only 20 more minutes. I can't wait. I get to post today's POOZLE!
(It may be the last time I get a chance because it's going to be a weird one.)

Good Maen

We still have our baby raccoon sleeping just outside our patio door. Guess he didn't leave last night after all. Guess I'm going to have to call someone.
18/Jul/12 12:10 AM
Did I say 'our'??? Yikes! Certainly didn't mean that! It's 'a' baby raccoon outside our door! I repeat, not 'our'! (Anyone want him?)
18/Jul/12 12:14 AM
Just had time to work the puzzle - off to tutor for a while, then grass mowing before it gets WAY too hot.
18/Jul/12 12:16 AM
In pondering what POOZLE to post for today, I thought of that infamous phrase:

'You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time.'
18/Jul/12 12:19 AM
Problem is, I only have this one rare shot at it. SO ... with one and a half votes for a Logic puzzle and no other preferences voiced (though I know they're lurking!), I looked for that one, desparate POOZLE that offers 'something for everyone.'

I was not the demented person who created it, but I want to shake his hand. His thinking pulls together so many disparate threads, I suspect he was weaned in Sudokuland. Enjoy. (bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha)

The zebra, monkey, giraffe, elephant, and lion were all competing in the Zoo Animal Olympics. Each competed in a different event: basketball, wrestling, 110 meter hurdles, long jump, and weightlifting. Each animal wore a different color jersey: red, green, blue, orange, and More...

Good Maen friends!
Shiela - I hope you call a wildlife rescue #...poor little fella.
18/Jul/12 12:21 AM
OH Plum! My head hurts! This is one fancy, schmancy poozle! Hope you get some good results...me, it's way over my skill level with poozles!
18/Jul/12 12:23 AM
I've already solved it. [That's where the Hints came from. You're welcome.] So, I'm off do the regular puzzles while I brew a self-congratulatory pot of yerba mate.

Good morning. We're going to the state fair today! The weather in northern CA has cooled down, so it should be a fun excursion.
18/Jul/12 12:24 AM
Oh, Vici ... don't despair. Haven't you ever solved a grid puzzle? Perhaps this will help?
18/Jul/12 12:25 AM
WOW - a beautiful brick job!
18/Jul/12 12:26 AM
Thanks Plum...will take a look when I get back from my errands this morning.
Linda - have fun at the fair - good day to go. It's really chilly here this morning - in the 40's!

Keith? Yoo-Hoo...Keith?

Good morning people of the world.

My mind is not here today, I know this because, on my quick jaunt out, on the return trip, I missed my turn by a mile, literally. Been driving on this road for 13 years and have only missed that road one other time, I was looking at a huge moon.

My excuses are valid, today. I have two phone calls in to doctors and we are showing the house today.
We are showing the house, because the realitor lady cannot make it, just need to do some freshening up. Which will require me to think, which I am have a difficult time doing this morning.
18/Jul/12 12:47 AM
Linda, on my way home, I passed our fair grounds, where they setting up for this weekend. Thing I, is so excited. She wants to actually leave her Grandma's, to come home. Gee, I feel so loved and needed.
18/Jul/12 12:49 AM
Shiela - DON'T give in! If you want to see what happens when you start feeding a baby raccoon, go to my gallery and scroll waaaaaaaay down! We may have told people we moved to St. Simons from Richmond because we retired. That's a lie! We moved to get away from our resident raccoons!!!
18/Jul/12 12:53 AM
Yellow Pig? That almost sounds like a partial answer to my poozle, but not quite.
18/Jul/12 12:54 AM
Wonderful news, so far. Thing II's test results are partially back, still waiting for the EKG. But her lead levels are normal and the Echo test looks great.
Talk about feeling a burden lifted. Thanks to all of you for your great connections.

Jane, I think Shiela should write the raccoon an expensive resort hotel checkout bill then slip it under the door.

Shiela - see if anyone in the neighborhood has a live trap and an idea of what to do with it once it's locked in the cage. Bait the trap with peanut butter so it's less likely to be triggered by a cat.
18/Jul/12 1:01 AM
Karen - I did exactly the same thing this week. I drove right by my doctor's office. When I got about a mile down the road, I realized what I had done. Also, I know what you are going through with showing your house. Ours is for sale and we live in a constant state of keeping it neat.

Now More...

Raccoon gone. Whew!
Humane Society animal rescue picked him up. They said he probably had distemper by the way he reacted to being caught. Too tame acting & eyes weepy, I guess. I hope they took into consideration the heat & lack of food. Now I have to worry about my cat, but he's indoor only. Can we track distemper in?
18/Jul/12 1:04 AM
We have our first correct poozle answer for the day! Glad you found the poozle 'irresistible,' Linda.
18/Jul/12 1:05 AM
I am so thankful there is a Humane Society in the area that picks up these little critters.
(We donate to them every year so I guess it paid us in return this time!)
18/Jul/12 1:10 AM
Linda, I can see by passing the doctors office, don't know why I have not thought of that.
This is the road to our house, the one that I drive on, almost on a daily basis for 13 years. In my outing, I only drove about 20 miles round trip, 3 miles on one road and 7 miles on the other road, More...

Shiela - just did a quick Google on distemper in raccoons. Raccoons can be infected with either canine distemper or feline distemper. Cats can't get canine distemper. The weepy eyes seem to be a symptom of canine distemper, which tends to afflict great numbers of young raccoons in the spring and More...
18/Jul/12 1:21 AM
Shiela, been listening to your raccoon tale. Happy to hear the Humane Society was there to help.
We live too far out, for HS to help us, so we, as in Man, has to take care of things. I ask for no details.
18/Jul/12 1:23 AM
Hmm. Cutting and pasting doesn't allow underlining to come through. One of my hints said to Google an underlined phrase. You can figure out what to Google without the underlines. I've got to go hang some laundry.
18/Jul/12 1:25 AM
Now with Linda added to the house selling/buying bunch, is that 4 or 5 us, moving on this years.

Rolanda, Kate, Sue, there is someone else, and me, now Linda. Who am I missing?
