Yes Dave - most states in Oz have 4 terms and we are in the holidays between 3 & 4 in WA at the moment. We are finishing up early to mid December but the final year has just finished to start their final exams called the TEE (in Perth)

Yes Dave, our school year finishes early December and has 6 weeks break to coincide with high summer.

The final year of school is Year 12 and they finish up 4 weeks before the rest of the children. Not sure why. Some Aussie clever teacher-type may know.
