I'll join the gardening talk from yesterday.
My gardens are only full of Daylilies. I hoed too many rows of veggies when I was young, I guess, to want to plant fruits and vegetables. Plus, we have 'three front yards' and shade on the side that's not. Our property is a peninsula surrounded by streets on three sides.

tom asked about my foot yesterday - My fractured foot is coming along. I plan to go to Italy, no matter what! Well... at this point, anyway. I have about 4 more weeks to heal. Unfortunately, I am probably losing walking strength & stamina as I type!!!

Back to the gardening produce - we have had good luck this year - raspberries, turnips, green beans, celery, radishes, red peppers, all variety of greens including kale & mustard greens, and loads of heirloom tomatoes! Love their names: Purple Cherokee, Black Krim, Brandywine - but even more so: loe their sweet taste!

You'll make it, Shiela!!! We went to Kaua'i the first time right after the radiation therapy for my hubby. Then a later trip a couple of weeks after his orthopedic surgery on his hip and upper leg bone after he was hit by a car while on his bike. My only concern was would he set off the metal detector at the airport with the big pins in his hip and smaller sets in his leg bone!

Since I live in a condo, I have a small garden. But now my white ginger plant has oodles of white fragrant flowers, my awapuhi (shampoo) ginger has two flower buds getting ready to bloom along with my blue ginger. I have 4 small trees of plumerias blooming, just waiting for the other two to get off their duff.

Dang only one of six pineapple plants is producing a fruit at the moment. But they're so sweet! And my heliconia plant is sending up more shoots!

I agree with Amelia, Vao88m. I think the horse is having a great time in the falling snow, chasing snowflakes perhaps.

When I first moved to this apartment, with a balcony facing southwest, I planted tomatoes. They grew successfully, but squirrels ate them before I could. I tried netting the green tomatoes, but the squirrels just sucked the juice out through the net as soon as the tomatoes turned red.
This summer, I've had wonderful wildflowers that were meant to attract bees, but I've seen no bees.
