A very handsome beast that would tear you to pieces and eat you at the slightest provocation.

Tigers cannot be trained to be civil for when they grow up, as their nor-adrenaline/adrenaline ratio is very high.
22/Jun/09 3:00 AM
I suppose it would be quite easy to genetically-modify a tiger to be gentle and harmless
22/Jun/09 3:00 AM
Hubby will not be tired when you present him with that sweet baby at some point today...It will just make him want to give you a longer back rub later....when you will be able to fit it end...lol.

Rayray... why would you? And HOW would you? They are carnivores innately. Now amount of genetic engineering could change that. Let Tigers be Tigers.
22/Jun/09 3:25 AM
Now = no.
22/Jun/09 3:25 AM
I agree with Heidi - NO GENETIC ENGINEERING! I know, I know, a lot of families would disagree about that, being that a family member is dying of cancer or whatever disease. If only we could volunteer to limit the number of children we produce and leave alone those who do not wish to have More...

It's the Spring of 1957 and Bobby goes to pick up his date. He's a pretty hip guy with his own car. When he goes to the front door, the girl's father answers and invites him in.

"Carrie's not ready yet, so why don't you have a seat?" He says.

"That's cool." More...

No Genetic Engineering??? That's interesting. Why don't we give up medicine altogether and let nature take it's course???
22/Jun/09 6:53 AM

Rayray, good question. Can we genetically modify humans to rid ourselves of crime (or maybe just of criminals)? Does that mean there's no free will?

I once asked that question of Matt Ridley ("Genome"), and his splendid reply was "What if there's a 'free will' gene?"

22/Jun/09 7:00 AM
I never said "No genetic engineering". I see no reason to do it with wild animals, though. It's a major boon to medicine, though.
22/Jun/09 7:02 AM
Baz... That WOULD cut down on overpopulation problems.

Crime Rate Going Up
A shipment of the hot-selling anti-impotence drug Viagra was stolen at the port of La Guaira, Venezuela. The pills, which normally sell for about $10 each in the U.S., will probably fetch about $17 each on the black market, officials said. (AP) ...Police say they are looking for a band of hardened criminals.

1:43 Hi to all. where does the white tiger originate from?

Thought for the Day:

Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
(T.S. Eliot)

Interesting crossover, André. Genetics and white tigers. See:

But be careful...

They are described as having "chocolate-colored stripes..." could be fatal.

We had to pay for lunch and even did a little shopping afterwards. Nothing!
