Anzac Day

I was at Uluru last year on Anzac Day. Had a moment of silence watching the sunrise. I won't forget.

Good Maen everyone.
Remembering those who fought ...got a box of Anzac cookies from Bluey when I was visiting. Not quite as touching as your memory, Keith. But I sure did enjoy those cookies and all the other goodies she and Dan had packed in the tin.

Hey Judy, and everyone else to of course...things are pretty good, and my farm, my zoo and all of my animals continue to flourish and pull at my heartstrings, but can't replace this site for me. I am like the proverbial penny.... I'll keep showing up from time to time. How could I not when so many wonderful folks are here. Have a great day one and all! Peace.

Happy to see you, Mama!
Facebook is fun, but, I agree, nothing can replace this site.

Off to dismantle my Club's yard sale before it rains. I was there at 7:00 this morning to set up and when I left at 9, they were doing a brisk business. All the proceeds go to More...

I want to pay a small tribute to my comrades who are no longer with us - Lest We Forget.
Appropriately, the Sydney skies are weeping this morning for the men who gave everything.

They shall not grow old
As we who are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun
And in the Morning
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget!
In memory of those who died, & remembering those who are, even now, risking death on our behalf!

Ian you see the rain differently to me. After all the lovely warm weather we have been having, I just felt how sad and difficult for all those who were going to Dawn Services , and those who will be marching later this morning.

Grasshopper - the Ode to the Fallen can reduce me to tears every time I hear it. Thanks.
Was going into the march this morning but had a few delays and realised that by the time we got near the city, parked and got there, we'd miss some of it so I'm just ready to watch it More...

2:27 Good Morning all.
I went to my first dawn service this morning for ANZAC Day. It was in Roebourne, an old historic town near Wickham in the north/west of West. Australia. For such a small community there was a very large number of people there.
We went to a community breakfast at the local Fire Brigade afterwards.

It can't be! It's over 12 hours after the new day started and we're still on the first page!?! Must be everyone is outside doing spring clean-up or busy with ANZAC Day remembrances.

I never cease to be amazed at how the Anzac spirit continues to grow. I went to our local dawn service this morning with my daughter and her friend, and the numbers there are greater each year. Just got back from the town march and service. Again, the numbers were larger than I have ever seen, and More...
