It's 75°F now and we had much needed rain all night...big thunder-booming rains.
Hot again later today - 91°F expected.

G'day mates. Here's today's paraprosdokian:
"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car."

Good Maen

Congrats on first, HalT!

Hello, John! How's it going?

For those who missed yesterday's posts, I refer you back to June's last comment at the end of pg 3

(But still slower than most of you!)

A sad day for our Sudoku family. My heart goes out to June, Laura and the rest of the Douglass family. Bless you sweet Sharon.

June, I am saddened to read of Sharon's passage at the age of just 43. You have my deepest sympathies. I remember the look on my mother-in-law's face when my wife died at just 44. No words can stop the pain of today but I just want you to know we care.

I took this picture a year and a half ago. The day before June had hosted a luncheon at her club for me and our Sudoku family. I met Sharon and Laura for the first time then in person (other than Skype visits). It was a joyful time for me and I will always remember the wonderful hospitality of my Australian Sudoku family and the Douglass', especially.

Yes, today is a sad day here. We really do seem to get close in Sudokuland, and we have lost not only a member of June's family, but a member of our own family as well. Sharon has been suffering for a long time, and I for one am grateful that her pain is over now. It's the pain in the hearts of More...

Kayo.... That's my all-time favorite. I live in the bible belt surrounded by some very hypocritical christians.
29/Jul/11 12:44 AM
My sadness at Sharon's passing is balanced by knowing her suffering is over and she is at peace. Love and shared grief to her family.
29/Jul/11 12:59 AM
Good Morning all. We finally got some much needed rain and now the sun has come out. Shiela I hope you didn't float away, heard you had some pretty big boomers there last night.
29/Jul/11 1:02 AM
What very sad news today.
June, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May the love of your friends here help to comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead.
There is another angel in heaven.
Rest in Peace, dear Sharon.

Thank you all for your wonderful words. They are bringing me great comfort. You are my friends because Sharon introduced me to this site. When Vici was here Sharon was just out of hospital and came to lunch with the drain still in from an operation for removing yet another lump. Although Sharon has More...

June: Please accept my condolences on Sharon's passing. I grieve at this loss for you and your famiily. May God comfort you at this time.

Good afternoon to all! I know there has been a tragic loss for Laura, Ken, June, and the rest of the family members, but Sharon's long plight of pain and suffering is over. I hope Laura will always have good memories of her Mum.

This is for Sharon.
29/Jul/11 5:30 AM
We have had several losses over the years for our virtual or personal friends. We will remember them all and know they shared great thoughts and memories for us.

1:47. everyone. It's a little cool this morning - -7.7C, or around 18.1F.
29/Jul/11 7:00 AM
In the time it took to do the puzzle it's drpooed to -8C, 0r 17.6F. Brrrr.....
29/Jul/11 7:02 AM
Please keep chatting. Kathy where is your puzzle? Silence is golden but life goes on and must be enjoyed. Where is Karen?
29/Jul/11 7:04 AM
Goodness me - so, so, quiet here this morning.
29/Jul/11 7:32 AM
Karen was going to somewhere unnamed, June, so that could be why she's not here chatting.
29/Jul/11 7:33 AM
As for Kathy, she may be being held captive by a raving puzzle purist!
29/Jul/11 7:34 AM
Or, she could still be knocked out by the quality and number of yesterday's answers.
29/Jul/11 7:36 AM
Or maybe, she just can't find a good puzzle to post today.
29/Jul/11 7:36 AM
I'm here! I wasn't sure about posting a puzzle, it seemed a little frivolous today. Bless you, June for thinking of us. You are a courageous lady.
29/Jul/11 7:44 AM
I think this is an INTERNATIONAL day of mourning here in Sudokuland. I feel very sad & quiet today & imagine that many of the rest of you do, too.
RIP Sharon, & may Sharon's peace give you & the rest of her family & friends peace too, June.

The answers to yesterday's puzzle: 1. smooch pooch 2. witty kitty, cartoon coon 3. feature creature, Godzilla thriller, the Captain said 'chick flick', but we all know about him. 4. rare hare, funny bunny 5. metal kettle 6. marriage carriage, Greg said 'divorce horse', but we all know about him, More...

Thanks, girls, I'm sad, too. But I figure our silliness might lighten June's day if she pops in now and then.

My plans were already set in concrete, and last night hubby and I took Hannah to see the last Happy Potter movie. I loved it, hubby and daughter picked the ending to bits, but I thought it was pretty faithful to the book.
Have you seen it? What did you think?
29/Jul/11 8:10 AM
This is pretty silly.....

What's the rebus, here?

Rover to Lassie: "You're it."

Lassie to Spot: "You're it."

Spot to Benji: "You're it."

Benji to Rover: "You're it."

I have moved on in my excavation of the guest room. Today was the absolutely terrifying task of cleaning out two dressers. Goodwill is gonna love me! Good thing hubby has a truck!
29/Jul/11 8:22 AM
Good morning all.
June - I've been thinking of you all again this morning. I know you like the diversion of the Sudoku chatter and silliness and puzzles.
Gail - Happy Potter?? I liked the final movie but it had been a while since I read the book. I think with it fresher in my mind, I might have picked at the ending too.
