Very warm, thanks, Shiela - but we had a storm this afternoon that cooled things down to a bearable level. Quite the opposite to what you're experiencing top-side.

Hi John!
Shiela - 26C here at 11.13PM - still rather warm. But we are expecting a wet weekend and it is very welcome.

Well, Shiela, my black and white heart avatar was because Valentines is approaching but I guess I could give you freezing top-siders some of our Aussie sun,

Sorry couldn't help myself. I don't get to play very often anymore, so I had to grab the 22 when I could get it!

Oh Dear. It seems I scared everyone away. Maybe the warm smell of slowly simmering beef barley soup will bring them back. How about a fresh homemade loaf of bread on the side?

Howard Zinn-RIP Those of you who appreciate historical accuracy, and have not read A People's History of The United States, please do so. Over a million copies sold. Why only a million? That's how few care.

Peace and love-Ed

No Jill! We are not scared away. You are not a scary person at all. "We" (=me) have/has just looked in before going shopping.

Yum! Jill, please may I have some? Pretty please with a cheery cherry on top!!!
30/Jan/10 1:39 AM

Your indication about homemade reminded me of garlic bread in the oven. I rushed to look. Not quite a cinder but not far off - still edible if you like BBQ-flavoured bread. Not bad actually considering. Jill - thanks for the reminder.

Shosho cherie; I like the "cheery cherry"
30/Jan/10 1:44 AM

Bonus - the smell of burning garlic may well protect me against the upstairs resident witch.

HI all! Lots of correct answers yesterday - from the usual bunch - but not many got the bonus question...the answers I wanted were as follows:
1. Silent Night
2. Let it Snow
3. O Holy Night
4. I saw Three Ships
5. Do you hear what I hear?
6. Go tell it on the Mountain
Bonus: The Nutcracker Suite

So where's the hula hula girl? Busy stuffing cotton wool into those coconut shells I bet and wondering if she'll go over the weight allowance on the plane! Here's a puzzle for you to do over the weekend in case she hasn't persuaded anyone to fill in for her while she's away - answers to the More...
