Angela, did you see the 'rest' of the comment about what to serve?
Sarah Beth,
No I didnt, I think I'm gonna have to reboot. Computer is acting up
I suggested Pumpkin Pie made with Splenda...and without the crust for more calorie savings.
Jamie, if you have a sinus infection or a bad cold, I have found 2 things that work well: If you take normal saline solution (or 1 teaspoon salt in 8 ounces of water boiled 5 minutes then cooled), lay on your back with your head tilted way back over the end of a couch or bed, fill both nostrils of More...
Susan, I too am glad your son is doing better and that the tests came out ok!
Sarah Beth, pumpkin pie sound real good!
Did you guys hear about the book 'If I Did It' about how he would have 'done it' if he had been the one to kill Nicole B. Simpson and Ronald Goldman? Since he can't be prosecuted after already being acquitted for the murders, he can write about how he did it. I guess he thinks that since he got More...
Sarah Beth,
I'm sorry I misunderstood. Yes, I did see your suggestion. However, the problem with diabetes isnt just the sugar from sweets. It's the sugar converted from the carbs. Things like stuffing and mashed potatoes (although healthier than pie) get converted into sugar. A diabetic is More...
Hi all...my turn for a cry of HELP ....HELP....HELP.....

My daughter needs some help for a school assignment due on Wed. 22nd.

She requires the name and singer/artist of PROTEST SONGS of the 60’s 70’s and 80’s. She is then required to track down these songs, and More...
Is KRP back by any chance?
Bob Dylan, the Aussie Singer/Politian (cant remember his name)
Have you tried to google 'Protest Songs of the 60's, 70's and 80's'
the politian is the singer from Midnight Oil - i think
Angie/Melb. his name is Peter Garrett. (Thank goodness for google).
for lyrics go to

Well that's all from me, need to go cook dinner, good luck with the assignment
Angie, if you go to Wikipedia and put in 'Protest songs' and will give you a background to them in general plus a link to an 'incomplete list' covering every possible theme you could imagine. You may find some of these could appear in your own music library. I do not condone the downloading of More...
Frickin' A!!!!! That is TWICE I've not been able to post something!!!!! GRRRRRRRRR
Angie & Rebecca,
I use Limewire to download songs. You can even just put in name of songs and you'll get list of all people who've recorded it. Drawback is that its like of like napster so you can only get More...
What is the matter with downloading songs legally? You are still paying money which goes to the artist (and the producers and the music company....)
whole list of songs with the artists:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_protest_son gs

this is cool it has sing-a-long songs too...maybe you daughter can get the lyrics to some of them and print them out to hand in:

Angela..it can be any type of protest song and not Australian.

Dave I hear you about the downloading of songs issue, unfortunatly the teachers have only given us under 24 hours for this assignment, and I really don't have much choice in the matter. I am trying to use what we have hear at home, but the good old 12 inch vinyls are bit hard to burn onto a disc.
I believe limewire is legal. I'm not sure if thats what you were getting at. They have upgraded versions that cost money. Theres websites all over where you can 'buy' the song for like a dollar. Problem with a lot of those is that sometimes you arent sure if its the right song. They usually More...
Just caught up on all the posts, and now for an early night!
OK I checked and let me correct myself on something. Limewire in itself IS legal. There is a free limewire and one where you pay a fee (fee goes for software, not to the artist). Downloading the actual song is illegal. With the exception of any songs from the 50's because their copywright is More...
Just popped in to read the comments and have been laughing my head off at the jokes and I'm only on the second page. My husband came in to see what was so funny and has gone back to his TV chuckling.KEEP THEM COMING!!
theres a good song from 80's called 'wind of change' that was by Scorpian (heavy metal band). Also from 80's there's '99 Red Ballons' by Nina. Probably the best one out of 80's is by Sting, 'If the Russians love their children too' (or something like that in the title).

These 3 might be More...
Not that I listened to them, but the one that sprang to mind was Anarchy by the sex pistols, but I don't know what they were protesting about
U2 & another band(can't think off hand)the Saints are marching, actually, In the name of Love is about Martin Luther King
topaz...I like that one by U2 (in the name of love)
Angie: go to http://www.anu.edu.au/people/Roger.Clarke/WM/Bogle.html
for the best-known Australian anti-war song of the generation. All the kids will have it, and that means Rebecc should too, even if (or because) it is so well known. It is based on ''Waltzing Matilda.'' It was written in 1971 More...
U2 and Green Day sing 'Saints are Coming' but it's not 60s, 70s, 80s
Thes boots are made for walking - protesting men's domination - the song has become a symbol
Topaz, a symbol of what, my guess would be of naff music and lyrics. It is one womans gripe about how SHE feels HER chosen partner treats HER. Not protesting men's domination in general.
It's not even a 'all men are the same' moan.
As for 'one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you', Doesn't sound like she knows what a caring relationship is.
hii wats upp!?
Catching up in the archives on November 20 and saw Naomi's joke--what a hoot! I'll get a lot of mileage out of that one.
2:25 Belated hi to all. Lovely photo.
