Nick, We call it soccer here because we already had a game that we call football before soccer (the game you call football) became popular here.

I first heard that Col, as told by Lou Richards after the Grandfinal that collingwood won when Lee Matthews was coaching them, and ofcourse it was a Collingwood bias on the joke
