Hal - By any chance will you be driving down I-95? If so, would you and Barbara like to meet up for lunch? (It would have to be late-ish - I play tennis in the AM.) Or if that doesn't work out, perhaps on your way back home?

HI all! Yesterday's puzzle was harder than I thought - lots of wrong answers in the inbox, but well done to Mr C, HalT and Greg who worked out, from my clue, that I was looking for 'long time no see'! Groan!

Karen, the days on your calendar seem to be getting dafter and dafter - I mean, 'elephant appreciation day?' Oh hold on dear til I go feed the elephant out the back...it's just not quite right somehow!
23/Sep/11 1:04 AM
After the excitement of the week, we both slept in today. Well, I slept. TM is feeling a bit crook, as you say.
23/Sep/11 1:04 AM
Are you going to do it Sarah Beth??
23/Sep/11 1:06 AM
Or is Jane lurking waiting to pounce?
23/Sep/11 1:06 AM
I could say something about elephant appreciation day, but I will be noice to my ex SILs!

Beautiful photo today.

Hubby has just finished cutting the front and back lawns, and he is giving me the long suffering look and sigh. He hates it when he is working outside and I am on the computer. I suppose More...

23/Sep/11 1:07 AM
Go and help your poor hubby instead of sneaking up on us!
23/Sep/11 1:08 AM
Kathy got it. Kathy, I know all too well that look and sigh. Unfortunately, I could be applying for a job or doing continuing education and get the same look.
23/Sep/11 1:08 AM
Speaking of which......
23/Sep/11 1:09 AM
I wasn't even trying! How neat!

"Long time no see"??? It makes perfect sense when you know the answer!
Let's see if I can do better with today's.....

He says he can never figure out how to use the trimmer and keep the "string" advanced. What a crock.
Okay, I'm going, I'm going.......

Our two daughters left this morning for a long anticipated European trip. They are meeting another set of sisters in Venice and are looking forward to a carefree two weeks of sightseeing and fun.

I don't like yard work either, Kathy - mainly because bugs eat me alive. Unfortunately, due to Jaime's ailments, I've inherited it. I don't mind mowing the lawn too much - or tending the flower gardens - but standing on top of a ladder trimming hedges really bothers me. So I ripped out all the More...

I am jealous of your daughters, Linda. I love Venice! And Italy, in general.
23/Sep/11 1:21 AM
I have the same problem with the trimmer ... works for me, too.
23/Sep/11 1:27 AM
Jane - I jealous of my daughters too! I haven't been to Venice since I was on a family vacation when I was a teenager. This is a fun getaway for our girls, one of them is celebrating a landmark birthday. They both have young children who they have left in the very capable hands of their husbands (the kids' dads). They were both apprehensive about leaving the kids, but I know things will be fine!

Kathy and Jane - I have a love/hate relationship with yard work. I love a beautiful garden but don't always enjoy the work.
23/Sep/11 1:47 AM
The teenager comes very three to six weeks. Collects his $40.00 and cuts the lawns and does anything else I ask. Not much to do. (put a nail in the loose fence board etc.)

Hold on Fiona, there are some days coming that I cannot believe are in my squares.

BTW, it is possible, this is a worldly site, somewhere someone has to have an elephant playing out in the yard. I am sure of it.

My great grandma used to call me her "Little Elephant."
Yep, I felt so loved.

Just prepared my first jar of peach perserves. It was pretty, smelt wonderful, now wonder who is going to taste them.
