Missed the changeover. Hi everyone.

G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:
cannibal — Someone who is fed up with people.

...and here's today's factoid:
According to the US National Institute of Mental Health, one out of five women has exhibited some binge eating symptoms; 40 percent of people who suffer from binge eating are men.

In case you don't always go back and catch up on the end of yesterday, Peter's ''The Clothsline'' is worth a look see.
25/May/13 12:06 AM
Good Maen all!
Hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend!
25/May/13 12:08 AM
Grabbed my little buddy's number!
Had to go change my avatar in honor of our Memorial Day weekend.

Gorgeous sky!
We had an earthquake here last night...freaked out the cats. It's pretty rare up in the mountains where we live, so it was a surprise. Not like growing up on the Hayward fault where they were regular occurrences.
25/May/13 12:14 AM
Love it, Kayo!
25/May/13 12:14 AM
I was wondering if it was near you, Vici!
(Hope the cats have settled!)
25/May/13 12:15 AM
Yes, Vici, we should all remember and honor the sacrifices made.
25/May/13 12:15 AM
That does not look like a happy sky.

Anyone need any rain? It has been raining here for the last couple of days. The schools are closed today because of flooding. Our sump pump was working overtime last night. The way the water was coming in, it sounded like someone had left a hose running. On the plus side, we have a shallow well that I'm pretty sure isn't going to go dry anytime soon.

Needs a bit of pink (quinacridone coral, maybe) added to cheer it up a bit, Serena!
25/May/13 12:21 AM
Serena, we have had many days of rain lately. Don't know if the weather predictors are still thinking we will have rain over the weekend or not
25/May/13 12:23 AM
HAve to post quickly, the landscapers are here and I am sure they will want to know where to plant everything.
25/May/13 12:24 AM
We are supposed to be wet until Monday.
25/May/13 12:24 AM
Hmmmmm
25/May/13 12:28 AM
Hello, Keith!
25/May/13 12:28 AM
I just hope there is no rain in Indianapolis on Sunday!
Race fans are fair weather friends...
'cause they can't run the '500' in the rain!
25/May/13 12:31 AM
(Guess where I'm going to be on Sunday!)
25/May/13 12:32 AM
Serena - send that rain our way - very dry winter - I'm worried we'll have a nasty fire season if we don't get more precipitation.
Sue - love that avatar.
Any special plans for the weekend, Shiela?
25/May/13 12:32 AM
LOL - answered my question while I was writing it, Shiela!
25/May/13 12:33 AM
It's happy dance time. After 9 loads of laundry, I am officially done. Unless you count the wool that is air drying. A part on our machine broke last week so we had to wait for the new part to come in before hubby could fix it.
25/May/13 12:34 AM
Remembering our fallen veterans this Memorial Day weekend.

''On your graves the rain will fall from the eyes of a grateful nation''
25/May/13 12:43 AM
That is so funny, Vici! Great minds...
25/May/13 12:43 AM
A bittersweet day of remembering those who gave their lives... grateful and sad.
25/May/13 12:49 AM
It's cold and windy this morning. It's weird. I go from A/C to heat, A/C to heat. Oh, and throw in some sun/rain, sun/rain. Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind recently.

The gentlemen swept the correct answer derby yesterday. The answers was: A stapler

The celebratory cake goes to winners, Quahog, HalT, Mr. Cee, and Greg!

Guess I got my Ba Moui Bas.

Strike that last s.

I just spent the morning at the Magnolia Cemetery, putting up flags on the graves of all the veterans. It took some time because a lot of the older stones are very hard to read, and there is no map of the graves. We were all delighted that we found all 7 of the CivilWar graves this time. That's a first!
25/May/13 2:12 AM
Changed my avatar for the weekend.

Now to look for the ''Clothesline'' post.
25/May/13 2:15 AM
Peter.... Your ''Clothesline'' post was delightful and thought provoking. It's a shame how much we lose with modern technology.

With the long weekend coming up, we need to know facts such as these, in order to set even higher standards for future generations.

An Olympic swimming pool holds about 660,253 gallons, which is roughly equal to seven million cans of beer. The amount of beer consumed by Americans on More...
25/May/13 2:28 AM
Yes, 'The Clothesline' brought back memories...
You can tell there is a big family living there when the lines are full and there is laundry hanging on the shrubs!
