G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:
thinking — skinny monarch

...and here's today's factoid:
By 1546 Henry VIII was so fat he could hardly walk and had to be carried around in special chairs called “Trams.” It was around this time that he, famously, had to be winched on and off More...

It's sunny!
It's Friday... here anyway!
It's got the all makings of a great day!

Good Maen

Anyone interested in some Blue Bell ice cream?
29/Jun/13 12:04 AM
... that's a Blue Bell hat I'm wearing.
29/Jun/13 12:05 AM
Now, that IS fat!
Funny (and not ha-ha, by the way), at the top of a mountain trail in the Smoky Mountains last week I was told by another hiker - a male person I'd never seen before - that I could lose some weight! I wear a size 10 and weigh a WHOLE lot less that good ole Henry! And I was up More...

(For Shosho!)

The picture reminds me of Norman Rockwell's painting of him drawing himself using a mirror. You can see it here: http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Triple-Self-Portrait-February-13-1960-Posters_i7553659_.htm

Your hat isn't fat, Keith... It's Kayo's Henry!
29/Jun/13 12:13 AM
1:55 Good night one and all!
29/Jun/13 12:22 AM
Just in the process of packing my case. I don't travel light although I don't seem to have too many clothes, just all the extras we need.
29/Jun/13 12:23 AM
I'd better grab the 13 while I'm here as I won't be here for a few weeks now unless I can log in somewhere.

A ''spot of cream'' does go with the Factoid. The trick is moderation ... a trick I'm sure I'll still be struggling to master to my dying day.
29/Jun/13 12:25 AM
Especially for Peter!

29/Jun/13 12:31 AM
If I knew precisely when I was going to die, I'd stuff myself with ice cream, Keith! (Unfortunately, I became lactose intolerant when I turned forty. It's not nice of Mother Nature to pull that trick after you've learned to love ice cream!)
29/Jun/13 12:33 AM
Ooooo, a 'selfie'. Nice 'fur-piece'.
29/Jun/13 12:34 AM
Whert are you going, Anne?
29/Jun/13 12:35 AM
I have a picture like that of CP's meeting with Vici, Lynne, and I.
29/Jun/13 12:43 AM
Getting close.
29/Jun/13 12:43 AM
Looks for Serena.

Love that fur piece, D or A!
(No, that's not me!)

1:47. Good night all.
29/Jun/13 12:47 AM
Safe travels, Anne.
29/Jun/13 12:49 AM
You're right! It is a modern version of Norman Rockwell's self portrait! The collar is something that Vici will admire, I believe.
29/Jun/13 12:49 AM
Heidi, did you see the horserace link I posted yesterday?
29/Jun/13 1:23 AM
Sheila, my younger son was diagnosed as being lactose intolerant at 7. I keep a supply of Lactaid at home and in my purse for him. Even though he is not supposed to take any medication at school, he has been known to sneak one with him on days that they are having an ice cream party. Luckily his More...

Interesting choice for a scarf. Hopefully nobody startles it.
29/Jun/13 1:50 AM
For DotCom, and CanukGreg who knew that yesterday's riddle was referring to seahorses .
29/Jun/13 1:53 AM
Unfortunately, Tami, Lactaid doesn't always do the trick for me. Ice cream seems to be the worst. I still never go out without Lactaid. It's always with me. I don't count it as a medication. It's a food suppliment!
29/Jun/13 1:53 AM
I'll have to look back on yesterday's page, DOrA. I hadn't seen it.
29/Jun/13 1:54 AM
Cleverly written article, DOrA. Thanks for pointing it out to me.
29/Jun/13 2:06 AM
Finally having a 'normal' day! Hubby is walking and hasn't mentioned a need to go bike riding. Think it's the twinge he gets occasionally from the groin. So long as those twinges come and go I don't think I'll get any arguments about doing any thing strenuous!
29/Jun/13 2:26 AM
Fell asleep on friends sofa and very late home. My dog is happy
Quick puzzle & then bed...
29/Jun/13 2:42 AM
Maen, all.
29/Jun/13 3:13 AM
Another hot day around here.
29/Jun/13 3:13 AM
Happy Friday and 2 days off.
Going to lunch with Mom and my son today. Love getting the generations together when we can...
