In honor of flip-flop season, I am off to get a pedicure. I am torn. I like having spiffy colored toes, but I hate having my feet touched. Hubby just reminded me that our dog was the same. The way she reacted, you'd think I was trying to burn her feet with hot coals. Maybe I'm part husky.

Out here since it is a Japanese invention, we call it the zori. And I'm already wearing them!!! I have one with hibiscus flowers, another with plumerias, and one with lots of colorful butterflies!

TftD: 99% of the time, when something in your house isn't working, one of the kids did it.

Good Maen, good people. Magnolias and violets are in bloom and my mid season tulips are out alongside my early tulips. Daffodils still blooming. It's like they don't care anymore about the order in which they are supposed to appear. I don't care, either. Just glad to see them all!

I forgot to mention Burl spotted a pair of bald eagles last week as well as a Common Redpoll (not to be confused with the House Finch), a masked winter finch with a scarlet 'mohawk.' It's the first time either of us has spotted a Redpoll here. We had to look it up to find out what it was. The More...

The rain last night was so lovely it was a shame to sleep through it. We are enjoying one more summery day today. Tonight's rain is supposed to usher in falling temperatures. We may have frost again next week. As the last frost in the area can happen anytime in the first half of May, this in not unusual.

Oh, and the pachysandra and myrtle and lunaria (aka honesty or money plant) are also blooming. If I went for a walk I'd look for dutchman's breeches, yellow violets, lily of the valley (ours are pink) and mayapples. The heat and rain should bring out the morel mushrooms. (And the ticks.)

Well, I have some mail I thought was on my desk that isn't, so I need to use my eagle eye to find a Paperius envelopus importanus. Since it's not to be found in it's native habitat (where, I'm sure, it breeds) I may be forced to hunt it down in that most difficult of locations: my purse. (Talk about hiding in thickets.)

Enough beer. Bed time, night all.

I thought I might upload a couple of photos on to my page but each time they are up-loading 'side on'. Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong or how to correct it?
04/May/18 1:10 PM
Arachnid, if I remember correctly it is Keith who generally directs questioners to an explanation re. photo posting.
But until he does, if you go to the 'Forum' section above (across the top of the page) you will find a section entitled: Questions about this Site
Scroll down to the 9th topic line & the 30th topic line - you'll find threads about photo submission which may be useful!
04/May/18 1:53 PM
Actually, I just read those 2 suggestions & it's obvious they will be of no help - sorry, Arachnid!
04/May/18 2:01 PM
Arachnid, they must be ''side on'' before you uploaded them. If you use a picture editing program like Paint to rotate them correctly before you upload them, they should then be fine.
