Phantom, I actually DO have to go out to get a heater...
We have to get a new furnace, in fact.
Not till next week, unfortunately...
And it's been in the low 40° F at night!
(That's about 4 and 6° C - approximately.)
Luckily this furnace will be much more efficient.

06/May/11 12:02 AM

Good Morning to everyone! It is a very "pretty" morning here, but chilly!!!! I am looking forward to warmer temperatures!

Hal, I just sent you a personal message about your turtle photos. Apparently there was some confusion about who took them. I sent an e-mail to the Turtle Patrol to make sure they understood that although Rob was the one who first spotted the tracks, you & Barbara were the official photographers!

Shiela - there was a discussion recently on the site about how manly it is for a husband to volunteer to help with the housework, so naturally, all the guys at our Fripp gathering jumped at the chance to pose with the cleaning supplies. Sigh...... Aren't they dreamy?
06/May/11 12:07 AM
2:11 I wonder whose photos these are of our west coast. Lovely one today.
06/May/11 12:10 AM
Wow! I did it! I did it!
06/May/11 12:11 AM
My bed should be warm by now so it's time I had some shut eye.
06/May/11 12:12 AM
Jane, they are, indeed, dreamy!
Add my hubby to that wonderful list!
06/May/11 12:14 AM
Now... off to the chiropractor!

Shiela, the vacuum cleaner photo was inspired by some comments one day about husbands who help out by vacuuming. Rob does all the vacuuming at our house & some others said they also have husbands who help out in this way. I think Hal says he does occasionally. I forget what Keith said & am not sure about Jaime? I think it was Neil who challenged us to provide proof.

There's something I don't understand...just how many hoovers (vacuum cleaners) does that house on Fripp have? Am I missing something here? You have almost as many hoovers as I have sofas...
06/May/11 12:28 AM
KathyF, Don't blame me about requesting proof of the vacuuming 'males' - somebody else did it.
06/May/11 12:33 AM
Good morning to all. Lovely warm day here - perfect weather for gardening.

I'm one of those women who is blessed by having a husband who helps clean. Vacuuming and cleaning toilets are his specialties.

Neil, sorry if I named the wrong person. Please forgive me - my memory's not as good as it used to be. (Remember, I'm a sexagenerian.)

Rob just read in this morning's Beaufort Gazette that the first turtle nest of the season was found on Fripp Island yesterday.

For those who would like to "help" in my garden but use the excuse of living too far away - I took an early stroll this morning with my trusty camera in my hand. the results can be found on my Flikr site accessible through My Page. If you scroll a little further you can see the difference a year or two make.

GannieMo, you flowers are beautiful. I would love to smell the fragrance, but a recent conversation was about poop, so I will just use my imagination for the floral scent. Your labor is much appreciated, for my enjoyment. Thanks for sharing.

I was so worried about No Max. Yesterday, I noticed him eating a tree. Wondered if something could be wrong. This morning when we went out, I noticed big limbs off of one of the pecan trees and the tree he was eating had big limbs all around the bottom. When I asked if he did that he took a big More...

Keep your fingers crossed, it looks like we will not have any more doctor drama, until June. Thank goodness, these people just hunt and hunt until they find something wrong.

I am starting now, to line up child care. I have learned it is not an easy task. Should be easier, since Thing I, will be out of school and no one has to drive way out here to pick her up. Though one person did not mind me driving the same distance, to take her child to school and then pick him up afterwards. But we will not mention that.
