Lizzy did it - bottom and top.

Have a hippy, hoppy, happy new year, not just the New Year festival, but the whole of 2017.
01/Jan/17 9:42 AM
Well here we are at 44, twice as many as Keith's number, but not twice as good of course.
01/Jan/17 9:44 AM
all. Still a little more than six hours until in the eastern USA. I don't expect to see it this year as I hope to be sound asleep.

I could go on and get a CP if no-one interrupts, but if I miss out, that's just bad luck.
01/Jan/17 9:46 AM
Let me see, would it be fair to say that Hal is the cause of my bad luck?

Christmas in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge with the family was great.

Someone asked about the fire damage. I estimate that 95% of the damage was outside of the two towns. We spent about 5 hours in Gatlinburg on Wednesday and saw no burn damage.

Sorry Wombat.

Happy New Year everybody .....only 358 days to next Christmas.

Well, it's New Year's Eve in my neck of the woods - I worked my holiday requirement today and then I retired from my hospital position! 35 + years and seem just like yesterday- 2017 will be a new era for me - I'm working on my aquatic therapy career now - less hours - plenty of learning and development in my future- but stress level just went down !

Welcome to the ranks of the retired, mymare.
01/Jan/17 12:24 PM
Retirement has been wonderful for me, partly because I didn't see the need to fill my time bringing a second career online. I have no doubt that's a lot of why my stress level went WAY down. I hope you find much joy in your retirement, mymare. I often wonder where I ever found the time to work.

Wishing all of my Sudoku Friends a Happy and Healthy 2017.

Mymare, I've been retired for 18 years. One (of many) bit of wisdom I can share is this. When overly helpful others find you with more time on your hands and offer something towards which you can volunteer your time, simply say this: 'I'm sorry, I can't take on those responsibilities. I have responsibilities.' Leaves them dead in their tracks.

Less than an hour to the New Year! To all of my Sudoku friends.... I feel a bit like Sandra Bullock in 'Miss Congeniality' as we go into the 2017 New Year... I wish for World Peace.

Champagne, strawberries & poppers!

01/Jan/17 4:13 PM
There's just something nostalgic about the smell of spent poppers!
01/Jan/17 4:15 PM

01/Jan/17 4:25 PM
... wondering what kind of poppers we're talking about ...
01/Jan/17 5:35 PM
I earnestly hope that 2017 is better for us all than 2016. No broken bones in Sudokuland, and only good things for all our governments.
01/Jan/17 5:50 PM
Happy New Year's day! Welcome 2017!
01/Jan/17 10:59 PM
Good Maen (again), good people. Hope today's more bublegum than peptobismal.

I dutifully stayed up past midnight. Then, because I had had root beer floats made with caffeinated Barq's root beer, I couldn't get to sleep until 2 am. Slept 4 1/2 hours and am now awake. I expect I shall nap through a movie later today.

In case anyone was wondering, I went to Menards yesterday and got everything on my list to complete the desks. I decided to get materials to make Skye's desk stronger as she will be leaning on it a lot as she works, and Faun and I decided to make her desktop higher so she can also stand at it. Burl will help me saw, glue, screw and assemble today.
01/Jan/17 11:34 PM
I'm trying to distract myself. I'm very hungry and don't want to eat yet. Ha. Burl has eaten a bowl of cereal. No coffee.... Yup. He's back in the recliner for a nap. I could nap too, but if I do I'll miss the sunrise, which is currently exhibiting bands of blue, greenish blue, yellow, orange and red over a purplish gray ground mist even though it's still way too dark to read without lights.
01/Jan/17 11:42 PM
The cats are all awake and looking for mischief ... or, preferably, Faun. Faun is an accomplished Crazy Cat Lady even at the age of 27.
01/Jan/17 11:52 PM
The sky is brightening. Sun's still not up. The red has become a pink band above the milky lavender and blue of the mist over the lake. It's a bubblegum morning here, Shiela. All flavors!

May it be a great 2017!!
