Sad little encounter this week. At lunch at one of our local restaurants (sitting on the patio in a strong prevailing wind) we were talking about the vaccine passports which come into effect on Monday. We asked our young waiter how the management thought it might affect their business. He suddenly choked up. He said his mom has been anti-vaccine, now has COVID and on the phone that morning had sounded much, much worse. He'd urged her to go to the ER, but she was afraid her vaccinated sister would say 'I told you so'. She lives in northern Saskatchewan, about 1,600km from here - not an easy distance for a young waiter to cover in a short amount of time...
