A bit foggy. The sun peeked out for a minute this morning, but is hiding now.
Whatever... I have a free day.
(My Welsh sister-city guests are off on a city-organized adventure without me today. It'll give me time to get ready for the next adventures.)

My cat just came out of the basement. He's been hiding during the day since my guests arrived two days ago. He will only come out at night and clings to me all night - standing on my back while I try to pretend I'm asleep...

Good morning to all. Housecleaning is on my agenda for today. We've been on the go lately and my domestic duties have been ignored for too long. I don't enjoy cleaning up - but sure like the results!

Here's today's one - answers to the Wee Willie Winkie inbox please!
Born in nature, shaped by man
Getting just shorter in a life span
Almost no one all of the way
But when needed "I'm hero of the day"
Always giving but never will take
And in some days I top the "bake"

Phanty I couldn't really post a poozle yesterday while my daughter was in the throes of agony - wouldn't have been right - and I haven't figured out how to copy and paste on a smartphone yet either, but that's beside the point!

Thanks for asking Linda - in the end only one tooth was removed - seems it's too dangerous to do more than that at once - so there was relief all round! She'll be back next week for the next one though!

Part 2 of Corn on the Cob:
Am I the only person who hasn't heard of "cooler corn"? I was blind-sided by the simple genius of this method for cooking loads of corn on the cob perfectly.

I was helped to it while visiting my family in Maine. Short story: We like corn on the cob. More...

And I thought a Coleman cooler's only alternative use was for carrying the cat to the vet!!!!
(Easy in, easy out... you know!)
BUT... "Wiped clean" takes on an altogether serious definition after that use!!!

It's been a long time since I've cooked more than six or eight ears of corn at a time, but that tip is definitely worth noting, Jim. Thanks for sharing!

all. Just found a great photo posted by Debby's daughter Angi on Facebook of Debby's TWO grandbabies together. Adorable! I am so happy for Debby. She's going to be such a wonderful Grandma. Congrats to daughter Jenny, the new mom, and all the rest of the family, too.

Fiona, I'm sending long distance hugs to Carla, too. Are the extractions in preparation for braces? Hope she's feeling better soon.

Shiela, what other adventures are planned for the Welsh visitors?
