Just looking back at yesterday's comments (great joke btw, Kathy) about 1--9, vs. 9--1, etc., I'm curious - do most people survey the puzzle and plan a strategy before they start, always start with a favourite number or, do something like me and just pick the most upper left number and plunge right in?

I'm always an upper-left starter, too, Tom. My times (when I bother) reflect my ''laid back'' attitude toward puzzle solving and my total lack of strategy.

Good morning. He's the big banana on the plantation. I don't strategize solving. I, stubbornly try to solve 1-9 every time, unless I've read the comments first, and somebody had already found an easier way.

I start at one and work my way through ,that’s why I don’t use the timer.

Must try starting at the upper left, didn't know about that.
I generally do 1 -> 9, but like to try 9->1, in the hope that it shakes some rust off the brain.

Usually go 1-->9 unless a quick peek looks like lots of 9's, or I'm going nowhere fast after the 1st few numbers.

Yes, I'm in the 1 to 9 camp too.

I do 1-9, unless I make a mistake, then I start at 9 and work my way to 1
