Enjoying my passion fruit pancakes! Since the new stove/oven won't be here until this Tuesday, had to haul out the old electric griddle. First time in a long time, cooked six pancakes at a time!

Wombat - I haven't been part of a horde for eons. Not since I hung out with those Mongols and Turks.

Bother. I love summer and how it stays light until bedtime, but that also means that suddenly the evening has gotten away from me and it's 9 pm before I expected it to be. I should have looked at the real clock when I signed in here earlier.

I've got a full week ahead of me. I'll check in as I can to see what the hordes are up to.

Plum, I'm not sure it contains the word HORDE, but I recall a poem I had to learn that contained the two lines:
And the Assyrians came down like a wolf on the fold,
And the cohorts were gleaming in purple and gold.
That's pretty close to hordes.
I should Google it.

There is a poem by Byron that I nearly got right, and here it is:

The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold,
And his cohorts were gleaming in purple and gold;
And the sheen of their spears was like stars on the sea,
When the blue wave rolls nightly on deep Galilee.

Good evening. Nearly time to turn the page. Visited a friend who we travelled to Turkey and Greece with a few years ago. Travelling days are over for both of us. Nice to catch up.

It was warm enough to get the washing dry. A neighbour had some large trees removed. They had a large crane to lift the trees out of his yard. My poor friendly kookaburra was wondering what was going on. It did not stop him(?) from coming and getting his meat. Tis one comes and takes the meat out of my hand.
