Hello, all, from page 2 ... the computer slows down because it is trying to hold so much in memory to get back to quickly. Rebooting clears the memory cache.

Safe and grateful we didn't have too sleep in the car all night.Hubby let me have the back seat and he was in the front but we are no longer teenagers and it was beyond uncomfortable.

We did get to see the sun for a while but the skies are clouded over as another storm front comes through again. Hopefully this time I'll be indoors cooking up a storm as well. I wish someone from the younger generation in my family would want to learn the recipes to pass on to the next. But I guess I'm just lucky that they'll eat it and know why!

The stretch of river in the photo looks landscaped/purposely planted with a row of same age similar species trees.

I'm puzzled by the photo. I just don't know KY/TN seasons as well as I'd like. I can't make out the season. It seems first like autumn (after the fall) because the water More...

As the New Year approaches, I hope everyone does what I've learned recently. Leave the past in the past (the regrets, the sorrows, the guilt), let it go. Don't over obsess over the future to the exclusion of the present. Truly live the present, don't pass up an opportunity to be kind or to spend time with a loved one or to play with your kids or grandkids.

Thank you Plum!!! I surely will! Now I have to plan it so that they will all be here at the same time! One in Japan, another at UC Davis, another one (Lord only knows) to college, just two will be here where I can grab them!

Oh Shosho - What i miss most about this time of year is the planning of New years celebrations. All the traditional dishes. The tofu and the bitter melon, the dim sum. Folding 200 hundred wantons. Frying dessert wantons, with all the candies fruit inside. The family coming in waves as the weekend goes by. Ed was so much help, and one year my girls folded everything.

shosho, you have learned a valuable lesson. Life is about people, not stuff and things. We are goiung into the big city today.. to Rural King. Gpa. said he would only be buying one thing and leaving. I am going along to see if that is true. Have a great day everyone, J

Good Maen all. Well, it hit 0 deg F. at the local airport this morning. (Whatever happened to "global warming"?) It's up to 14 now and black ice abounds. I have a rather steep driveway going down to an icy road, and a doctor's appt. in town in an hour. Hope I can make it.

Hi Grass-hopper,

It's easy to tell from your above posting that you and hubby aren't teenagers any more - otherwise you would have both been in the back seat, warming up, and not that worried about the passage of time.

I'm still eating Christmas leftovers. Right now I'm eating whipped sweet potatoes (surprisingly delicious when cold). I didn't add any sugar, just orange rind and toasted slivered almonds (after whipping).
