She died peacefully at home with her husband and 2 daughters by her side. Although sad for the family, it is a blessing for her. She had no quality of life More...

My BIL who lives in Hawaii raises orchids. He sent "Mom" 5 orchid plants for an early mother's day gift while she was in the nursing home. They took several weeks for all to fully bloom and fade. She basked in the glory of the orchids for a good while. Everyone-staff More...

Yesterday - we woke to a light show - this morning - just noise - at least the thunderstorms pass quickly but forgot to take the heat with it -- woke up singing - the rains came down and the flood came up, the rains came down and the flood came up, but the little house on the hill stood firm -- not quite sure on that last line, but always -- a good foundation is a most.....

I have been caring for orchids for years. Usually I'll get a Phalaenopsis from students. I still have two of them and one dendrobium. But my favorite are my two oncidiums. I get three four 3 ft branches covered with small 1-1.5 inch blossoms smelling of chocolate!!! every spring!

And for today.....

If you throw me from the window,
I will leave a grieving wife.
Bring me back, but in the door, and
You'll see someone giving life!

What am I?

To Colin and Linda's husband: losing your mother is hard to accept, even if it is expected. Remember the goodness, and keep her spirit alive. Condolences to both families.

Sending deepest condolences to Cyn, Linda and families at this sad time. Perhaps when you see a lovely flower, like the orchid in the photo, or hear a bird sing, you'll be reminded of how special your loved ones were to you. Blessings.

So sorry to hear that that two of you have lost mothers/in-laws. It always hurts and leaves such an empty spot when you lose someone so dear to your hearts. Cling to what made them dear.
