Oh, definitely not the beginning of an era of peace. In fact, the opposite right now, as we are under a higher alert in Washington. The armed forces in Afghanistan are also on alert for greater antagonism.

"Dog" Quotes

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue. - Anonymous

So much of what we take for granted as being true, upon greater scrutiny, ends up being just plain false. Collected here are some of our favorite punctured myths, misinformation and fallacies.

Well this is the ninth night in a row I have had little sleep due to back pain. So I sit in the chair with my knee on my chest and wait for the vicodin to kick in. In about an hour and a half, I will get woozy and sllep sitting up for and hour or so. Back pain is the pits.

2:11 good evening one and all!
I've just got home, before it was totally dark, after a lovely evening walk on the beach. It was lovely to relax as I've had my two grandsons here all day and when there's both of them, they do wear me out a bit.

Hi HalT and All,

I looked at the post by Joe Queenan about the American Anglophiles. Given that he is a humourist, I though his article was quite amusing and informative. If it had been published in a UK newspaper, it would have received a mixture of caustic and praising comments from UK More...

Jaime's ribs were delicious, Jane's potato and vegetable salad (from the cookbook) was exceptional, the corn on the cob was sweet and tender. All in all, a wonderful meal. They made enough to feed the whole Sudoku site. We had a great time talking on into the evening.
02/May/11 9:35 PM
How is poor Jaime going to make it through the day without his ribs? What a wonderful trip you and Lynne are having, Keith!
02/May/11 10:48 PM
Just home from work. A pre-bed snack of ribs, and potato and vegetable salad sounds good. Jane said she wanted to get rid of the leftovers. Too far to send them? OK. I'll just have a nice hot milk and head to bed - goodnight!

Judy, this is ribless Jaime speaking:
I will have to manage, like the bible says, without ribs, crawl around like a mouse but give life to a wonderful female such as Jane and eat potato salads for the rest of my life!!
02/May/11 11:11 PM
Wow, Jaime! If all men could become so gracious and compliant when friends devour their ribs, women should chow away! LOL You're a very lucky girl, Jane!
02/May/11 11:15 PM

Lots of ribs from Jaime to produce more females?

It has been reported that Adam had to do that (porovide one rib, quite a few years ago), and look at where it has got us to now.

I will not correct my typo above, because the intelligent people on this planet will understand me.

Don't you, fellas?
02/May/11 11:30 PM
I know, Judy! I am very lucky. Jaime is a very loving husband. Weird. But loving.
02/May/11 11:30 PM
Neil - Having you misspell words just adds to the frivoloty on this site.
02/May/11 11:32 PM
Neil, just the fellas understand your typos???
02/May/11 11:33 PM
Keith - What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be helping Lynne with the packing?
02/May/11 11:35 PM
Anne, Some sheilas as well.
02/May/11 11:36 PM
Anne - I've always suspected that men speak a different language than we do. Neil just confirmed it.
02/May/11 11:37 PM
Not including our lovely Shiela, of course.
02/May/11 11:37 PM
Speaking of packing, I'd better start doing some myself. See you all at the end of the Fripp festivities.
02/May/11 11:38 PM
I may be an "Aussie" by living here most of my life, but I'm sure as hell not a "sheila".
02/May/11 11:42 PM
Jane - have a wonderful time, which I'm sure you all will. I'd love to be there with you all.
02/May/11 11:43 PM
Anne, I do know that.
02/May/11 11:56 PM
I know you do, Neil.
