Our forsythia is almost in full bloom. The azaleas are just beginning to bloom. They should look good for Easter.
Good Maen to all. I love hearing of the spring that some of you are experiencing. It is good to be reminded that it is just around the corner. We awoke to 6-8 inches of snow and a forecast for more. I must admit, however, it is beautiful. I guess we are in for a day of reading by the fire and sauna this evening.

This thought might apply to some people posting on this site:

'Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go.'
Good Maen everyone. Cute little boy. It is nice to see the positive things posted. Work is done for this morning, have about 1/2 to chat if anyone is interested. Have a good weekend!
Kathy and Andre: thanks for the greetings. They're a bit early though. I guess I wasn't as clear as I thought:
Puzzle time for today 3:13
My B'day March 13
Also, Kathy, thanks for the 'regular' status...

To Stan in Birmingham- I live in South Central Kentucky- north of Nashville.
agn, deleting chain/panic e-mails without reading them might not be the best idea. I got 2 today, checked them at snopes, and both are true. One concerned Paget's disease (a rare breast cancer) although the symptoms would be enough to send any thinking woman to the doctor anyway. The better one was More...
Good Maen all! Amma- welcome to the site. Where in the state of Washington are you? Seattle? Hey, did anyone catch the Today show earlier this week? They apparently had Locks of Love on and cut Ann's hair off. Also had some folks on from NAAF (National Alopecia Areata Foundation). I missed it More...
snopes. I also told my newly licenced son. Perhaps that chain e-mail will save lives.
Speaking of those we miss, where is US Seaman Dennis, T from Brisbane (the 19 yo with troubled parents), the delightful Kerira and Suzy/Oz? Charlie, thanks for finishing off that one saying - very witty!
Hi Suzanne I'm down by graham not far from Mt. Rainier very cold this morning but the good thing is the sun is here and all this talk of spring sounds so good

Someone wanted a discussion topic. I'd like to put in water fluoridation. It's being considered locally, and the paper has been running the views of the dental group vs those who say it'a an unnecessary poison. My 3 children aged almost 11 and 13, and a 17 yo were all given drops then tablets - not More...

Amma, do you ever get up to Seattle? Yes, spring is around the corner. My crocus are going nuts, my fragrant daphne is in full bloom (with a hummingbird that visited last week), forsythia, daffodils, cant wait to warm up and get out there and weed!
we came from iceland in 63 to tacoma and mom told always told us their was fluorid in the water here I don't know if Tac. still has it but I will say we all had good teeth my kids grew up on well water and fluorid treatments
Before I get beaten over the head with 'cruise control in wet weather hasn't caused you to have an accident yet', I should add that I've only recently bought a car with cruise control - my '91 4WD didn't have it. Now I'm going to try again to go back to sleep.
I have some family there but dot't see much of them I lost my mom 3yr. ago and my grandma last year our family has goten so much smaller now I don't get up ther much

Good maen, everyone,

I'm a noob here but I like what's being said so I thought I might join in.

The one quote I remember is from the Walt Disney cartoon, 'Bambi'. Thumper, a young rabbit, said his mother always told him, 'If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at More...
..getting it...
Kathy: the above statement that I said was especially for you is because you are always so positive and happy so this is your day, you seem to spread happiness
Good Maen and welcome to all the newbies.

Have a great weekend!

...ora et labora...

Sorry if I'm curious, Oregbear. Are you benedictine? Ora et labora is a benedictine slogan! Have also a great weekend!
For Anne - Sounds like a rough evening. I hope there wasn't one of those toilet seat kiddie-locks as well!!!
Regarding fluoridation, this list might not be the place for such an intensive discussion. For information on both sides, see http://www.slweb.org/fluoridation.html
I, as a chemist, am convinced that water fluoridation does much harm and little good. Topical application for kids may help. Cutting out soda pop helps even more.
