WHOSE WAR WAS THAT?

A poem, posted on 6th November 2011, for Armistice Day (11/11/11), and Remembrance Day (13/11/11).
This has been diligently edited, as the Remembrance Day poem last year proved to be 'a difficult act to follow'.

Another good one, Ray...you manage to put your finger on the immense gulf that existed - and most likely still does today - between those who gave the orders and made the decisions, and those who carried them out.

I am reminded of photos taken during our Civil War where intense fighting goes on while a general sits on his horse observing from atop a ridge. Indeed, it could be any war, anywhere, anytime. So very profound, Ray. Thank you.
