The FLY in the SOUP

This is probably my best-ever poem. I need to add that it was written in 1992, when it emerged word-perfect directly from a dream, and I have spent more than 100 hours trying to improve it but without success.

What a splendid poem, Rayray! And on such short notice! It (and you, oh Poet Laureate of Sudokuland) are awe-inspiring!

The question we all have - what is life about - why are we here and what is next All we have is a faith that each of us has chosen, or refuse to choose at all. But, we all question, at one time or another our belief system. Why? Why do we question? should we question? - or just submit ourselves to faith and justification?

ours is but to do and die"
Alfred Lord Tennyson wondered, too.
You're in good company Rayray.

Rayray - I agree. This is absolutely your best ever poem. I don't think there's a man alive who hasn't at some point questioned his faith. I also don't think anyone has questioned it more eloquently than you have. Kudos!

Rayray - I'm so glad you directed me to this poem. Superb! Had me giggling throughout!
I love that it came to you in a dream...and I am not surprised that you are unable to improve on it in your waking state. Knowing this, can you still have the doubts that you expressed at the end of the poem???...for this one is truly divine!
