Alpacas
This is the herd I will be getting the 5 Alpacas from. The only 2 I'm certain of are Ginnie and Skipper. I believe the other 3 are a black, a fawn and another gray like Ginnie.

They look beautiful! I just attempted to post a bunch of questions, but was told I need to Log In. That's strange, as I AM logged in.

Such beautiful animals, Heidi! Do they actually stay in that small of an area? (Can it be called a pasture if it's that small?) Or were they grouped together for the photo? Do they stay outside 24/7, or will they need to be brought into a barn at night? Is Skipper a male? Do they need feed in addition to the grass in their enclosure?
I apologize if that's too many questions. I'm just interested.

Interestingly, when I came back to the page, I see that the post I thought was lost is now here - and posted AFTER my second post. Very strange, but at least it's here!

Is their fur as soft and cushiony as it looks?

You've never felt alpaca? It's the softest thing ever, and 3x warmer than wool. I have 5 cloaks made of alpaca that are SO soft and warm.

I didn't realize you had posted other photos. They look so soft and fluffy. I have only seen photos of alpacas, so also haven't felt their fur. I wonder if I would be allergic to items made from their fur. (I'm allergic to wool.)

Alpaca is hypoallergenic. It does not contain lanolin, which is what people who are allergic to wool react to.
