just a few more days and we can bring out the C word. I am ready for my tree to go up. Al has offered to help. I guess I might as well give up on my idea of a perfect tree this year.
? for you all.
When you put on lights on the tree, do you try to hide all th e wires? bury the green wires back inside the tree and lights placed just so on the tips of branches? That is how my Daddy taught me wind lights in and out, center out. This is something one should add to the pre mariage counceling. As important as seat up or down and bathrom tisue over, not under. Huby is a wind the lights on, and to heck where the wires go, makes a good place to hang tinsel Shuder!

Evening all!
Nope MizT... wherever they land is where they land. Stand back and look for empty bits, rearrange so the lights look a bit more balanced, chuck the decs all over... when the kids go to bed move a few so there aren't 12 balls in one spot and none somewhere else.

I am trustworthy, just ask most anyone with a name avatar, better than average chances I made it and sent it to a mail box, and so far, nuttin has happened to those folks.

A COWBOY'S GUIDE TO LIFE
Never squat with yer spurs on.
There are two theories to arguin' with a woman; neither one works.
Don't worry about bitin' off more than you can chew, your mouth is probably a whole lot bigger'n you think.
If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.
After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.
If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.
Never smack a man who's chewin' tobacco.
It don't take a genius to spot a goat in a flock of sheep.
Never ask a barber if he thinks you need a haircut.
Never follow good whiskey with water, unless you're out of good whiskey.
Good judgment comes from experience; experience comes from bad judgment.
Always drink upstream from the herd.
Never drop your gun to hug a grizzly.
If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.
When you give a lesson in meanness to a critter or a person, don't be surprised if they learn their lesson.
When you're throwin' your weight around, be ready to have it thrown around by somebody else.
Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier 'n puttin' it back in.
Always take a good look at what you're about to eat. It's not so important to know what it is, but it's critical to know what it was.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it back in your pocket.
Never miss a good chance to shut up.

I liked the one about ordering someone's else dog around. Huumm, I must be someone of considerablt influence then. Former neighbor brought home the CUTEST pit bull puppy. then before puppy could manage getting down front steps, family plannedto be away for a week. They asked me to feed the pup who would be living on the porch.
Now, I failed to rake into consideration, a puppy for a week in one location can generate a lot of puppy poop! and being the animal lover i am, could not let poor thing play and sleep in it's own poop. so guess who cleaned up after the pup for a week? I did have a talk with the pup and we dicided it would be greatly beneficial to both of us, if Puppy pooped in one corner of the porch.
as the puppy got bigger, they named the dog SUZY, she learned to go down the stairs, as pups are inclined to learn. from her higher elevation porch, she could see my door and knew when I was coming outside. Being a pack animal, she was soo glad to see anybody. she wold come running top speed and jump up at my feet. cute in a pup, but I realized, she is going to be a BIG DOG I best nip that in the bud now. Taught her she must sit (or as close as a high strung dog wold get to "sit", on her haunches, legs like a spring ready to pounce and her hind quarters about 1/2 inch from the ground). Once she sat for me, I would pet and love and rub her ears.
Now with any hope of making a long story short, neighbor, Rachel, and I were talking on the driveway, and Suzy heard us, and came running, Rachel was loudly telling Suzy to stop, get down, stop, bad dog, sit and Suzy was doing her own thing. she ran up to me, did the sit at my feet, and waited for her ears scratched. got a bit antsy, not holding that sit, and I reminded her, plop, down she went. Rachel, who had been apologizing about the dog not behaving, not able to teach her anything, just stood there, did not believe her dog would mind ME hehehe,

My tree is artificial, so I can put it up and leave it for weeks! For that lovely smell, I go wasking and find lots of cedar and pine to fill a huge bucket and there is my good green smell!

MizT, seat up or down is easily solved. Flushing a loo with the seat cover open is eeeeew - tiny germ laden water droplets are spread about 2 metres and circulate for hours just ready to land on the next user or on toothbrushes, vanity etc if in the same room as other stuff. So here, lid stays shut when not in use and everyone has to open it.

Everybody. The dogs got really playful this morning and decided that I was not allowed to sleep in. I still have that sore throat/ head cold that is going around here (computer virus?).
I REALLY wanted to sleep in this morning.

Liz, the stuffy ear I had was caused by a virus. The doctor had put me on antibiotics and what I thought was just a decongestant, but found out it also had anithistamine. Don't have allergies and don't do well with either. Had all kinds of side effects with lack of sleep being the least of them (3-4 hours a night). Once I found out, went off of them and had the "pleasure" of withdrawal the first night. Am now up to 6 hours and taking naps during the day.
Gail, as for the test, I've brought a note from hubby excusing me. Lost my bat and ball, but have most of my marbles.
Yep, got 'em.
Finally changed my Youtube to Gladys Knight & the Pips (Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey, Jr.). If you need a chuckle, give it a go.
Will try and get to everyone's pages to check out the new pics and videos.

MizT, I think you were asking how to get the smell of smoke out of wood, tell your friend to use a 50% ammonia and 50% water mixture. If she can't take them outside, make sure that the room is well ventilated.
Keeping positive thoughts for your daughter. The bank that hubby left back in February has been bought (top heavy in those bad loans due to greed). Nobody there knows if they'll have a job after the end of the year.
Just think. If Al sells a few of the domes in Australia, you could write off your travel expenses and get to meet everyone.
Glad to hear that you've found out one of your problems. If the meds are upsetting your tummy, try eating a little something before taking. BIL has the same problem and it seems to help. Hope you're feeling better and can get the rest figured out.
Stella, hope Ian's foot gets better. When our dog was a pup, I had my doctor x-ray my hand when he pulled me down the street and fell in the neighbor's driveway. Was thinking that might save you a few dollars.

Liz, happy to hear that little Arnie (Dandy) is doing fine.
Congrats on the weight loss.
As far as I know, Amazon is pretty safe. Haven't heard any complaints from anyone or bad news about their site.
Hope your feeling better. Hate getting a spring/summer cold.
Brenda, the crystals are beautiful. Congrats to you on your weight loss, too.
I've lost over 15 pounds over the last few months. But, I think a few came back for a "visit" the last couple of weeks.
2nd "installment" will be posted later. Time to look busy here.
