These ones are breeders and are over thirty years old. The young ones are released after they are 5 years old. because rats and other introduced predators get the eggs the eggs are collected and incubated here. They do not lay eggs until they are about thirty years old. We saw two mating. A grunt every thirty seconds or so. A very slow process!
