Hi Susan, just read in the last few pages of yerterday's posts that it was Wendy's birthday yesterday. Please pass on our birthday wishes to her - another teenager, eh? Best regards to yourself, Robert and the boys also.

Hi Susan, thank you for your comfort post! Yes, brother is going like gang busters just keeping up with his daughters, one of which has entered teenagehood! But she's really into school (a high school located on a college campus - a high gear school) and their church youth group. Being both parents to them is a tough job and I have to admire him for doing it! I do help out occasionally with babysitting the younger one and being the emergency cab service!

Hey Susan
hope all is well in your neck of the wood, and both parents are settled.
Unfortunately, havent been well, bad case of the cold/flu has prevented me from seeing either of the new babies and having lots of cuddles with them.
the cold is now all but gone.. and soon hopefully will go and visit Gr Nephew Simon and Gr Neice Isabelle and their mothers for lots of cuddles and probably take their Gr Oma with me.

I came in here to say hello....and that I like your post about mama ...''she will be back when she is ready'' (hope words are right one)... I have that type of thinking to... and it doesn't mean that I don't think about her ...but that I don't want to put extra pressure on her.
I am also in Qld ...I am a toddler in posting... and slow in typing but I enjoy Sudokuland.... Hope you enjoy it too... Thanks for sharing!

I also wanted to say that I love your color reading picture.... would you mind if I send it to some of my friends ?...I know a few who will try and try until they have it all right then will pass on to others just for the fun of watching them do it... Thinking of them doing so brings me lots to smiles for....

Hi Susan
I haven't noticed 'gold' so much, but my girls haven't played many games with goals... Ally is playing netball now so I will keep my ear open to see if the gold thing pops out.

I am trying to download messenger so I can join in the msn thing. I think I'm going to have to wait until we get broadband though. Right now I have the message "Sorry, this is taking longer than expected. Please bear with us for a few more minutes". Hmmmm. That started several minutes ago......

Susan, catching up on posts, I read all the comments about the idea of an "Important Event" board. My 2 cents worth: in most cases, the person the important event is about should be the one to write the announcement (if they're capable). It should have to be submitted to Gath (or his proxy) for approval (like Avatars and smilies) and posting. I like the idea of a location (like for birthdays) that would always show on the puzzle pages. I also like the idea of event announcements being archived after a set period of time when they become "old news."

Hi Susan. Thanks for your concern about my son. He's improving thank goodness. He hurt his foot - fell heavily while running at a mate's place in Canowindra. A group of them had driven up for the races. They ended up not going to the races, but some of them played golf but obviously he was not able to. (His injury occurred on Friday afternoon & they played on Saturday). He'd driven up but couldn't drive back so had to wait till Sunday to be driven home. We spent the monday in the Emergency Dept till they ruled out any breaks then I spent the next week taking to & from the Physio. It became red & swollen on Friday so there was another visit to the Dr & antibiotics. The physio also suggested he see a specialist because it was still too painful after the antibiotics had worked. The specialist had more Xrays taken 7 said it was okay he'd probably just ripped a couple of bone splinters off with the ligaments!! He's slowly getting back to normal!

Susan... I just tried that game of naming the colors, not the words. Nasty little brain twister. Now my head hurts.
Nevertheless, thanks for letting me "vent".

Hey Susan, do you remember posting this:

I think that I recall you saying that you're an engineer, so are you able to complete a degree in ed the quick way - 2 years part time? The best advice I can give you is to take note of current buzz words (one was 'impact' used as a verb when I studied) from study materials, and use them a lot. Markers LOVE big words, and I think it might appeal to their egos when you use their favourite words!!

I did that and it worked!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Susan. Thanks for dropping in on the 28th July!!!!!!!! Sorry I've been a bit preoccupied with a few other things at the moment! My son's foot has recovered from the cellulitis with big doses of antibiotics but the original "sprain" is taking too long to get better (it IS improving slowly), so the specialist has organized an MRI for Sunday to make sure there isn't some other problem! I'll get back to you! thanks again for the concern!

G'day, Susan!

Thanks for the encouragement! Things have settled down, but we're expecting rain off and on for the next week. There was some flooding of coastal properties but no major wind damage. Since our house is a couple miles from the ocean, we had no water problems, but our yard is a mess! We spent all day yesterday cleaning up the branches and Spanish moss.

What part of Queensland are you from? Are you on one of those itty bitty islands? I did some internet research and was amazed by the number of islands. The State of Georgia has just a 100-mile-long coast, but we have 13 barrier islands (St. Simons being one of the three developed islands - the rest are State or National Seashore Parks (with a couple that are privately owned). Being an island person, I would love to get down to your neck of the woods someday!!!

Cheers!
Jane
