I do not envy you the clean up Susan. We lived on a river but the house was well above the high water mark. In bad floods we would see cattle and other animals and sometimes even houses go down the river.

WOW Susan what a horrible experience. Though your attitude sounds so positive. It is an effective way to get the clutter cleaned out and some remodeling done. A little on the extreme side but very effective. I think I will keep to my ranting and raving techniques. I do hope all is getting back to normal now for you.

Thanks for the congrats about Aidan. He is lovely. I don't think I'll be able to come to Cairns - I'll be working and it's a bit far for a day trip but thanks for the offer. I would love to catch up - you should talk them into coming to Townsville - then it's only an hour for you!!
I checked out your photos - it certainly looks like a terrible mess. Of course we had seen the pictures on TV and in the paper but it makes it very real when you see inside someones home. Very scary. Hopefully the wet season is over for this year hey.

I haven't been back in contact as I am between jobs at the moment but as I do fly in fly out work I don't know what the future holds in the near future. I have a few prospects at the moment but nothing concrete. When I do I will let you know so we can catch up.
That aside how are you going with the next lot of preperations that the climate is throwing at us. Done all I can for the moment and am just waiting for the next update. Hopefully it will just go back out to sea. I'm sure your drought has broken down there.

Hey Susan.. well done to S#1, like yours my #1 is also finished with Uni at the end of the year.. 6 years.. and will end up with 2 degrees.
He was unable to secure a 'job' in the field he was studying.. not much out there really.. will try again next year, and hopefully better opportunities will arise than this years.
He however is able to continue full time working at Uni, in his job in the web department, and getting paid reasonably well.
I have just sent you an email, about my Mum.. who is not quite well at the moment.
