Thanks for the comment about the columbine, Sue. I'm not much of a gardener and it is getting hard for me to get down to do much of it but I do remember the pretty wild columbine in NM many years ago. I made one attempt here a few years ago but it did not make it. I guess I'll be content to look at my iris and all the vegetation in the woods behind our house! We live in Manhattan - north central KS.

Thank you for the Easter Greetings. I went down to spend Easter with Mom in So Cal, then took a long way home visting relatives & friends along the way - (Hwy 49 - the old gold route to) Sonora & Grass Valley then over Donner Pass to Carson City & Reno (left some money there) before heading back to my little corner of the world. It was wonderful seeing people I hadn't seen in years (other than at funerals). It was good to visit under better circumstances.

When I left here, to head south it was snowing (starting to stick) at my home, by the time I got to mile post six 4000' and out of the snow cloud, I saw a bit of blue sky, by the time I hit the California Border "el sol" was in full bloom. Coming home, hit some rain between Lassen & Shasta - better that than Snow - which arrived the next day. All & all a great trip. Hope you had a wonderful Holiday.

Sue, thank you so much for celebrating my birthday with me last week, I had so much fun reading all the posts.
The family went out to dinner that night, then the next day we had yet another party for my youngest daughter's 16th. I then had the pleasure of a lunch on Sunday with some of our Sudoku family who spoiled me wonderfully.
It doesn't get much better than that!

Thank you Sue for the warm birthday wishes, it is a wonderful day so far, work aside of course, but I am planning on the festivities to continue through the weekend, enjoy your week as well.

Thank you for your email. I don't often post because I think most people have left by the time I get on which is about 8 hours after the new Sudoku comes on. that is 8am for me but I know for you people you are probably out by then. I think it must be great to live in a place called OK and have a musical called after your state too.

We're travelling well, Chicago was windy, raining and cold. The Falls were absolutely beautiful. Will post photo's soon.

Sue, thanks for the birthday wishes, but it's not yet that time! It's funny you sent it, though - I had discovered that my fuzzy brain had actually jumped my age up a year (I won't be 67 until September, but had been filling in forms with that age written in), I suspect because I had filled in too many blanks for medical issues related to my knee replacement and just felt weary and older! So it is an amusing coincidence that I received a birthday wish just after I realized that I AM A YEAR YOUNGER than several of the forms might indicate! Anyway, the knee replacement went very well, I seem to be ahead of schedule in recovery, and now must buckle down to rehab to get the new knee to behave itself. Today's medicine is great - they had me up on my feet hours after the surgery, walking down the hall the next day, and home three days after, with Home Health care (I live 'way out in the countryside) coming to keep me moving. The nurse yesterday said she was astonished to see me at the door with no walker, no cane, and my dog on the leash (I feel this should be normal 3 weeks after surgery, I couldn't wait to walk him around the circle a bit - under the therapist's eye at first). So, anyway, you gave me a chuckle this a.m.!

Hi Sue,Yep, still moving dirt, indirectly. I have a dump truck on hire. He can move twice as much as I in the same time (bigger truck)... I just have 3 or four months "weather window" to work. This year - Septic sys., water well, and at least the slab for my barn... all the best.
