Hey, Sue--just got your great message about your bathroom renos! Thanks for sharing--nice to know I'm not alone in this. We've got almost everything picked out--fixtures, flooring, faucets, lighting. Our ensuite bath will be a vintage one, with the hexagon tiled floor and subway tiled shower, etc. The other will be more 'masculine' with wood cabinets and a basketweave travertine on the floor, oil rubbed bronze faucets and handles. Going to another cabinet guy tomorrow to see what he has to offer; the first place we went quoted us a price through the roof. It's exciting to see things coming together, but daunting, too, because I remember too well what's ahead. Hopefully when things get rolling, it will be a smooth ride. Hi Sue--Are you surviving the bathroom renovation? Can't imagine having all those tradespeople underfoot ... our guy is pretty much a one-man show, except for the demolition part, when he'll have help. Plus the cabinet guy and the countertop guy ...

Hi Sue: my computer went pfffft for a few days, so sorry I couldn't get back to you. I hope your renovations are clipping along glitch-free now. We're actually quite pleased at this end--only a week into it, but both baths have much of the plumbing and wiring done. A few more outlets for sconces to put in and they can start closing things off. Tiling should happen this week, then it'll start looking like something. Very exciting, actually, but ouch, my poor wallet. Keep smiing! (And thank goodness for my friends who let me use their shower, which I plan to do tomorrow!)

Well Karen brought her axe I'm told,

In hopes that in the meeting thing would abate.

There were also some children there,
So folks please don't despair,
No blood was shed, no one had a gun,
Instead the bunch just had some fun.

Well Sudoku folks just seem that way,
They have great fun on every day,
Just meeting friends is always nice,
After all, they've already broken the ice.

I have a hunch it's both causes - stress from having to make the decision to have put my dear cat down and not sleeping too well because he's gone. Hopefully, I'll get back to normal soon.

Oh boy, Sue--what a drag. Your bathroom project sounds like it's causing you stress. I remember that feeling too well from the dreaded kitchen reno of 2008. This one is going better, but it's still darned slow, and the counter top guys gummed up the sink cutouts, so the new counter won't arrive until Friday. Then there'll be another day after that with the contractor and hopefully all will be done. Looks great, but geez. Wishing you good luck--hang in there!
