Hello Sacky - Thank you so much for your comments on my latest holiday photos. I have endeavoured to answer your queries on the photo in question rather than answer them here as that would probably be a bit confusing.
It was an amazing holiday and the memories will last forever.
Cheers,
Anne

Hello Sacky, I came to the site to work the sudoku's and saw your post about the flooding in your area. We have had a lot of rain here in Middle Tennessee this spring and summer. There had been some flooding a few months ago but even though we have had frequent rains there has not been any more flooding. The two rivers are very high though. (The Tennessee River and The Cumberland) One plus for us, we have had the best garden since moving here.

This is copy & paste message about the Sudoku Easy Jigsaw Problems:
They went wild after one of Gath's changes. If you go back in the beginning (15th May 2005) & check the photos in the archives you'll find that the only jigsaw is the torso in the black jumper with the white coffee cup, you'll find that photo as the jigsaw on every Easy Sudoku page up till the 12th of January this year. I did comment on this earlier this year, but I'm usually commenting when no one's around!!!
I'd say the photos we're getting are the ones from the Easy pages that don't have a home any more! And the off sized ones are possibly the very early reward photos for finishing the Sudoku!
So I think we just have to accept that the Easy Sudoku jigsaw is going to too big or very small, more frequently than being a good size!!

Re the Whitebeam - I'm not a 100% sure it is a Whitebeam! The UK tree site uses small drawings to identify the trees!

Hi Sacky,
Thanks for the message today; and I'll look forward to the spring photos when they come.
Spring has been early here, all daffodils now finished. By the way, the ones you sent me all flowered. They did not seem to be as good as the pictures you had on your site, but perhaps they will settle in are develop for next year.
Things here have gone from ''bad to worse'' re time. My ute has developed a slow leak in the head gasket and allows me to drive about 10Km before the temp indicator starts creeping up past normal.
So I've now bought a little 5-door Laser Hatch-back and am having fun adjusting to it after about 12 years with the ute.
I took about 20 blooms to the show and was happy to get 2 firsts and 2 seconds. It was a good day; I won a 3rd prize in the raffle and received a lovely potted white camellia !
I hope to get a few iris photos on the site when they come into bloom about Oct/Nov.
Congratulations on your success with the Smilies !

Hi Sacky, thanks for the visit!
Thanks for the giving me the Viburnum plicatum, I agree it is the correct name! I find it a lot easier to identify our native flowers than the European ones!!
Re the Lion - I guess the Europeans were visiting Africa way back in the dark ages, so King of the jungle, King of England!! I think a lot of the European Royalty used lions as well! The world was very much a jungle back then. (Don't think it's improved much though!!)

Hi Sacky. I didn't want to forget to wish you & your hubby a bon voyage to NZ. I googled Doubtful Sound to find out more about it. You must have done some homework to find out that it is less visited & therefore not so crowded, but nevertheless very beautiful! Rob & I traveled with an APT tour group during our 2005 visit so we only saw what was on their itinerary. Rob chose not to rent a car since he wanted to be able to enjoy the scenery & not have to watch the road. I'm sure you are going to get some fantastic photos. Can't wait to see them when you get back, or maybe even during your trip if you have access to FB at any hotel stops & can post some of your favorites along the way! I also hope the NZ trip will whet your husband's appetite for travel to other places in the future.

Hi Sacky,
Just read your comment on the hard sudoku page about the coots, now! Didn't see any coots when we were there, but did see some moorhens - very similar to ours, so it's not surprising about the coots!

You mentioned today that you don't like having to watch out for snakes over a 4 month period. If that is true then I think you can thank your lucky stars. I used to take my dogs for walks through local bush land over here and we would discover snakes with monotonous regularity. Some, as early as August and others as late as April. That covers 9 months of the year. On the news the other night they mentioned that a lot of snakes have been slithering into people's homes throughout the suburbs and we have recorded more snake bites so far this year than we got over the entire summer last year. I guess we just have to be eternally vigilant.

How much did you have to pay that wren to pose for you, Sacky..... that is a stunning photo! And the muddy kookaburra is another wonder! Thanks.

Both those birds have been hanging around the front of the house for quite a while now, Kate. I can see them from the kitchen window and I'm out like a flash if they do anything different. More failures than successes, but as you know that's the way of it.

Thanks for all your comments on my Sudoku page. I'm glad you liked the photos. You seemed to especially like the Ifly adventure. I just learned that Ifly will be opening in Sydney in April 2014 so if you ever get the chance to get over there, you might like to check it out.
