Hi, Dottie! Thanks for the welcome! Whenever I'd read your posts - particularly this winter - when your weather comments would be a forewarning of what was on its way here. I have many cousins from my Mom's side of the family who live farther west, south of Toledo along Rt75 who we visit occasionally.
Amazing how small this world is becoming ... when you come for the Sept '15 wedding you'll be arriving just in time for the fruit harvest along the renown Ridge where luscious peaches, pears, & apples are abundant!

Hi Dottie. I think this is the best photo I've ever taken of him. Rufus has an ongoing problem with his eye. In that photo it was fine, 30 minutes later it was closed. I'm pretty sure it's another ulcer, which probably will not heal without surgical intervention. He puts up with a lot and I think this adds to his quirky character.

Dottie, That should have been sister & husband are coming from Japan. Their 2 daughters & family's live in the US. One lives 30 miles south of me and the other lives in Bella Vista Arkansas. BIL works for an oil company that is now in Houston. Sister & family lived here in town for over 20 years, BIL got a promotion so they had to move. When he retires they will move back to this area.

Many thanks for your birthday wishes on yesterday's site page. I don't visit as often as I used to do. Time is a very hard master, and with our summer on the way, there is much to be done in the garden.
Hope all is well with you & yours.

Dottie, the new house is 30 to 40 years old, just new to us. Before we moved we did major renovation. Wood floors instead of carpet, some walls were moved, major renovation in the bathrooms. Both got showers no tubs, the hall bath has a roll in shower [heavy jack hammering for that]. Both baths have a built in bench along the back. Most of the doors were widened to 36'. We really didn't know how bad the windows and sliding doors were. We replace the windows in June and now have replaced the sliding doors. We moved to this house for several reasons but the main reason is my husband has a neuromuscular disease. Hope this explains things.

Dottie, I think we're having the same weather, but you're getting it about 3-5 hours later.
I'm in SE Michigan, so we don't get the lake effect snows, either... unless we get a weather pattern from the east. That's when we start to worry!

Dottie, I'm glad you dodged the bullet this storm. We'll keep our fingers crossed that we don't have the winter we had last year! But, with the way this winter has started, I'm a bit worried.
I wish I could say I was from East Lansing, since I'm a MSU Spartan fan, but I live just south of Ann Arbor (in Wolverine territory) which is in SE Michigan - about 45 minutes west of Detroit. We actually live closer to Toledo!
