This castle was a boys dream many many years ago , and now it is an only man's work , it is called Moussa castle , the boy's name was Moussa , and he drew it , and dreamt about it , until he grew up and worked day and night for many years , to fulfil his dream .I posted some pictures of the inside of the castle . Every thing inside is made by him .He was alive when i visited the castle some years ago .

Hi Jano. Moussa Castle is wonderful! Imagine having a dream for so long and finally seeing it come true!
I certainly hope the fighting comes to an end soon. Stay safe, and let us know how you are.

Oh Jano! I just read about the bomb exploding in a suburb of Beirut! Perhaps that is what you heard. I'm also reading about the gunfire and fires in Tripoli. I can't imagine what it would be like to live near all the fighting. Is it possible for you to just stay home and not go out? And your family? Do they have jobs to get to? Are you relatively safe when you do go out? I just feel so sorry that you have to live in these conditions.

Hello - I just stopped to say, 'HI'. Things are slowing down a little here. How are you doing and are things beginning to quiet down in your neighborhood? I am glad you are here!

What an interesting story! I hope Moussa's life followed his dream.
I can see that you've dressed up your place. Brought some more California wine and some Belgium chocolates. I hope that your home becomes the peaceful santuary that it once must have been. Please take care of yourself. I pray that you and your family are safe and happily in each others arms.

Hello Jano, Haven't visited in a few days. How are you and how are things in your country? I haven't heard anything about Lebanon on the news here in a few days. If you would not mind my asking I would like to know more about you and your family.
Your new picture and story of Moussa Castle is great. Must have been nice to visit while he was still alive, did you get to meet him?

Hi Jano! Thanks for letting me know at least the hurricane did not hit Lebanon. You have had enough bad luck in your country recently - you did not need a hurricane, too! I looked at your new photos of Moussa's castle - very impressive. Was he a Christian? The photo numbered M-1 looks like a portrayal of the Last Supper? I Googled the Jacobs Company - wow, that is a very big corporation! Tarek must like his job as he has been with them for five years. Does he have a girlfriend? How about your other sons? Are you looking forward to having grandchildren someday??!! You made the 400th comment on my page today. I never imagined I would ever have that many! Stay safe.

Hi, Jano!
Last night or early this morning, I was awoke for a reason unknown to me. So, I decided to play with my page. I posted a photo I took on Sunday. It shows our son, David, and his new 12-week-old Pekingese puppy, Titan. He asked his Dad and I to puppy-sit for a bit while he ran an errand. Titan was sad with David gone. It was so sweet to see how the two of them have already bonded.

Hi, Jano!
Just to give you a progress report: I finished the top of the quilt and pieced together the backing. Today, I will make the 'sandwich' of the backing, batting, and top. This is the part I hate the most because it is so difficult to get all parts smooth before pinning it together. Usually, I pin and repin and re-repin just to get out wrinkles. Tomorrow, I'll start the quilting, but I'll have to go to a friend's shop to use one of her machines since I did not bring mine up from Florida.
I will not be posting a photo of me for a long time! I've been stress eating for a few years and my weight gain is horrendous. UGLY!

Hello, To answer your questions about my quilting, for the backing I usually use a coordinating, less expensive fabric. However, sometimes, I've even made the quilt reversible with something that is attractive but not so intricate. I just do whatever I feel like. I use a cotton batting called Warm and White or sometimes Warm and Natural. It is made so that it doesn't come apart and only needs stitching every 25 cm., but since my stitching is often part of the design, mine is usually quite a bit closer. It isn't a puffy batting so the quilts give a more old time look, especially if washed.
When I've made placemats, I piece the front and back and use a polyester batting because it washes and dries quickly. And a couple of times I've used a high-loft polyester batting for wall hangings.
My weight gain is more like 20 kilos and every bit of it shows as ugly. No photos of me for now.

Jano, Chalkboard let me know things are getting a little more scary near you. I hope & pray you & your sons & your husband will stay safe. I am so sorry you have to live in fear. Makes me feel kind of guilty for worrying about my dog when you are worrying about explosions around you. Ebony seems to be a little better now that she's had more medication & some special food.

Jano, the progress with my quilt went backwards today. All the work I did yesterday had to be redone today because one of the fancy threads I used had stretched. When it was left alone, it pulled the quilt into a pile of puckers! Not nice. But, now it is ready for some fancy stuff. One day this coming week, I'll go to the quilt shop and work there so I won't have to undo mistakes again!
Kathy/Valrico is off to their beach house on Sunday. I think she and Rob are going to be gone for a week or so.
I certainly hope things are improving near you. You are always in my thoughts.

Gday Jano, I am having the best time ever! Basically have sat on the computer all w/e talking to my Sudoku family. Must admit, I have been neglecting my real family because of it! I live in Australia, just outside of a city called Melbourne, the opposite side of Australia from Perth where a lot of Sudokuists come from.

Jano, I just read about the bombing in Beirut. I think it is time for you and your family to go visit your son in Los Angeles. Now you have my strong opinion!
Yesterday, I went back to the school where I taught for 20 years to serve lunch to the teachers. Since it was the last day before summer vacation, the students were there only until 1:00 p.m. After the children were gone on their school buses, I drove up with 15 pizzas! It was fun to see all my friends again. Of course, I ended up staying until 4:00 helping whenever anyone needed any assistance. I came home tired!

The quilt is on temporary hold. The next step will need for me to be at the shop for a while. I've not had time (busy doing other things and having appointments) to spend the day working there. I may go tomorrow. As soon as I finish, I'll photograph and post it. I promise!

Oooh! The bread sounds so goooood! I've had a tummy problem for three days and have only eaten white rice and bananas. Ugly diet. I have no news here. Haven't felt like doing anything except playing on my computer, watching TV, and napping. Truly useless.
Today, I want to go outside and pull a few weeds from flower gardens. I don't know if I will, but I want to.
I'm sorry that you are so trapped. Surely, this will be over soon. You are always in my prayers.

jano, I'm sorry I missed the opportunity to chat. I wasn't back to my computer for a while. I did not get many weeds pulled but I did show my husband which trees needed trimming. That worked well! He got his saw, cut several branches, and loaded up the truck! I'd say I did a good day's work.

Hi Jano, I love the castle photo, thanks for sharing. I lurk around in here about 2-3 times a week these days, so I try to keep up with what's happening and I wanted to let you know that I also am very pleased to see your posts, and to know you & your family are OK. I sometimes think if we could get the whole world to join in with our sudoku family and if universally people could really understand that we all do care about each other despite our differences and boundaries, maybe we could have a peaceful world. Whilst you and your family have to endure these difficult times, I hope it helps to lift your spirits knowing we care and send our prayers on your behalf. Stay Safe!! and Stay Well.
