As I Slept
A poem came unbidden to my brain.
At first I felt that I was quite insane.
Words all swirling round my head,
Made me leap up from my bed.
Trying to sleep again would be in vain.

Another bout while I was in the shower.
I never knew that words had so much power.
Phrases ending with a rhyme,
But really now, is this the time?
I am sure I could be ready in an hour.

Finally settled in my comfy chair,
with pen and paper handy there.
Breakfast eaten, chores all done,
Time to finish what’s begun.
But the poem has just vanished in thin air.

Hi Pam! Love the pottery photos. I tried years ago, but I didn't seem to have the patience, or much of a steady hand, to be honest. I did produce several rather lop-sided bowls, much to my family's amusement. I still have one under the sink holding sponges.

I would have liked to buy something but even the seconds were out of my range. (Sigh)

I recognized the Aye Aye from some long ago reading I did. I'd love to go to Australia to see some of the wildlife that has evolved there and nowhere else. I may never make it as hubby can't travel any more. At age 88 his as legs have given out. But he rode his motorcycle through much of Australia before we met. I'd have been there on my m/c if I'd known him then.

I have a personal goal to place a mug in every state in the U.S. I have managed to cover all but eleven listed below: North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas Wisconsin,Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

I will send a mug, free of charge, to the first person from each of these states to pm me with their mailing address.

That's wonderful Pam. Only 11 left - that's a fantastic achievement. I can vouch for the Pam's skill as a potter. The mug she gave me is great to drink from.

What a wonderful looking mug I received today! How did you know I love hummingbirds!?! It's a really nice size mug, too. Some are too small and some are huge. The handle fits my fingers well also. Thanks so much, Pam. I'm proud to have your Ohio mug in my home!
